APPROVAL OF MINUTES Chairman Mascara noted that approval of Minute No. 4-S-86 dated April 10 1986, and Minute No. 8-S-86 dated July 3, 1986, would be held in abeyance. 4236-536 - ADULT PROBATION Moved by Judge Terputac, seconded by Mr. Petrosky, to ABOLISH the position of Clerk -Typist I that has been vacated (S. Naser's position). Roll call vote taken: Judge Terputac - Yes; Miss Beharry - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Petrosky - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. 4184-214 - JUDGE RODGERS Moved by Judge Terputac, seconded by Miss Beharry, to change the classi- fication of Norma Wiencek from Legal Secretary to Paralegal. Remarks: Judge Terputac explained that the intent of Judge Rodgers' motion at the last meeting (see p. 482) was to change the title of Norma Wiencek as per above and that it will no longer be necessary for further considera- tion by the Reclassification Appeals Board. Remarks: Mr. Fleming explained his reasons for requesting this additional position. Discussion followed between Mr. Fleming and Miss Beharry. Motion carried. 4197-297 - SHERIFF Moved by Mr. Petrosky, seconded by Miss Beharry, to CREATE a per diem position While Real Estate_ Deputy is off.; for period of 8-14-86 through 8-29-86: at rate of 5.972. Remarks: It was questioned as to whether or not Chief Deputy Sheriff Littleton could vote in place of the Sheriff. The Board members felt that he could not. PALUSO, COMMISSIONERS o - Discussion foa..lowed • _... _ ___.. -- Mr. Petrosky stated that this request flies in the face of the policy of this Board in that Miss Beharry is asking the Board to place someone into a position which is presently occupied. He noted that it is not similar to other instances approved by the Board where an individual is moved up three steps to fill in for vacation or sick time. He stated that this action would establish a new precedent which could have very serious effects down the line in terms of other row offices and departments. Miss Beharry stated that her request is strictly related to the Court order which requires Don Quinn to be out of the office and will therefore result in his other duties going unfulfilled. More discussion followed. Mr. Paluso questioned the motion. Motion died for lack of a second.
