Also being present: John Pettit, District Attorney;! ;Chief Clerk Dallatore; Margaret Pennline, Personnel Director; Janice Urban, Office Manager, Personnel Office; Francis Pettit, Executive Assistant; Phil Garrow, Publications and Information Coordinator; Coroner Jackson; Kevin Humble, Budget Director; Kathy Emery, Assistant Solicitor; Stephanie Parish, Assistant to Chief Clerk; Linda Hands, Clerk -Steno II; Jon Stevens, Observer - Reporter; Robin Acton Huhn, Herald Standard; and Harry Bradford, Brownsville Telegraph. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Chairman Mascara noted that approval of Minute No. 1-S-88 dated January 4, 1988, would be held in abeyance. Chairman Mascara entertained a motion to approve Minute Nos. 2-S-88 dated January 28, 1988, 3-S-88 dated March 3, 1988, and 4-S-88 dated March 31, 1988. Moved by Miss Beharry, seconded by Mr. Petrosky, that the above -referenced minutes be approved as written. Roll call vote taken: Miss Beharry - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Petrosky - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. 4194-294 - DISTRICT ATTORNEY Moved by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Petrosky, ratifying the employment of William Johnson as lst Assistant District Attorney for the months of January and February of 1984 at the established salary at that time which was $1,500.00 per month; this motion to include any condi- bons referred to in the Stipulation of Agreement. ;Remarks: Mr. Pettit noted that this matter was a subject of a lawsuit which was ultimately settled and that part of the Stipulation of Agreement was the ratification by Salary Board of Attorney Johnson's employment. (See No. 5231 of 1986 for further reference.) Miss Beharry noted for the record that this settlement has no precedential value as outlined in the Stipulation of Agreement. Miss Beharry stated that she would have no objec- tion to increasing the salary of the vacancy to $19,174.98 but can not agree with Mr. Pettit's rationale for increasing the salaries of all three positions to $20,000.00, More discussion followed.
