Washington, Pa., November 3, 1988
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting
�Room of the Courthouse Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, at
,approximately 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 1988, with the following
!members being present: Commissioners Mascara, Petrosky and Paluso and
lController Beharry. Also being present: Judge Rodgers; Mary J. Drewitz, Court
,Administrator; Margaret Pennline, Personnel Director; Janice Urban, Office
lManager, Personnel Office; Francis Pettit, Executive Assistant; Barb Davis,
aAdministrative Assistant; Judi Lomago, Executive Secretary; Linda Hands, Clerk-
ISteno II; Jon Stevens, Observer -Reporter; and Pete Skirchak, Herald Standard.
i4184-214 - JUDGE RODGERS
Moved by Judge Rodgers, seconded by Mr. Petrosky, to ABOLISH the
temporary position of Judge's Secretary (as created at the meeting on
September 1, 1988) and CREATE a permanent position of Judge's Secretary,
Grade 10, Step 7, Rate 9.524, 619.06, 6,095.56.
(NOTE: Pauline Herceg would move from the temporary to the permanent position.
It was also noted that no action would be taken at this time to abolish
Rebecca Sensky's position of Judge's Secretary due to the fact that she
is entitled to medical leave benefits.)

Mr. Petrosky - Yes; Mr. Mascara - Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
;APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Mascara asked Controller Beharry if she was finished reviewing
�Minute No. 1-S-88 dated January 4, 1988. She stated that she was finished
reviewing them and submitted a list of corrections.
Moved by Ms. Beharry to approve Minute No. 1-S-88 dated January 4,
11988, with the corrections that she submitted, a copy of which is attached
hereto and made a part hereof. Motion died for lack of a second.
Chairman Mascara stated that approval of these minutes would be held in
4abeyance until the next meeting in order to give the other members an
[opportunity to review the corrections submitted by Ms. Beharry.
Chairman Mascara also noted that approval of Minute No. 9-S-88 dated
=October 20, 1988, would be held in abeyance until their completion.

Moved by Ms. Beharry, seconded by Mr. Petrosky, approving the
;following:
CREATE slot of Legal Secretary, Grade 6, (80%) Rate 5.763,
374.60, 9739.60
ABOLISH part-time slot of Clerk Typist I

1988, contingent upon his successful completion of the 30-day trial period.
Remarks: Discussion was held concerning whether or not this item actually
needed to be voted on by the Salary Board.

Moved by Mr. Petrosky, seconded by Mr. Paluso, to increase the cap on
Attorney William A. Mitchell's contract to $35,000.00
Remarks: Ms. Beharry questioned this action. Mr. Petrosky gave an explanation
of the reasons for the increase.

slot of RN Supervisor at the rate of 88.92 daily.
