Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs.
Pettit and Lane.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Bernard Nimenski, be appointed
in the Tax Assessment Office in the Field Crew, this action retroactive to November lst, 1953-
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Alfred Aubrey, be appointed in
the Tax Assessment Office in the Field Crew, this action being retroactive to November 1, 1953• ,
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Anthony D�arazio be transferred
from the Bridge Department to the Tax Assessment Office in the Field Crew, this action retro-
active to November 162 1953•
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Peter Elish, be placed back on
the payroll being that his leave -of -absence has expired; this action retroactive to November 4,
1953-
Motion carried unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting
adjourned.

Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Minute Nos. 158, 1591 160, 161
land 162, were read and approved.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount
of $7.98, paid on July 24s 1953, be made payable to Edward R. & Elizabeth Archer, R. D. 30
West Finley, Pa., on property situate in the Township of West Finley, described as 6 acres sur-
face, 4 room frame house, adjoining Archer, this amount was paid in the name of Ross Clemens by
Edward R. & Elizabeth Archer. This refund being made, due to the fact, that on July 24s 19532
the correct payment of $9.98 was paid by Edward R. & Elizabeth Archer, for the 1953 County Tax,
thus making it a duplicate payment. Therefore, The Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare
the said voucher for this refund in the amount of $7.981 for this duplicate payment*

Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of
$6.99, over -payment paid on August 1, 1953, be made payable to Housing Mortgage Corporation, 334
Union Trust Building, Pittsburgh, Pa., on property situate in the Township of Chartiers, describ-
ed as 1 story 5 room brick house, Lot No. 10, McNary Plan, Contos, George & Lillian c% Housing
Mortgage Corporation. This refund being made, due to the fact, that on August 1, 1953, the
amount of $22.95 was paid on this property, the correct amount of tax being $15.96, therefore
creating an over -payment in the amount of $6.99, on the 1953 County Tax. Therefore, The Tax
Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare the said voucher for this refund in the amount of $6.99,
for this over -payment.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that refund vouchers in the amount of
$289.12 and $288.24, be madspayable to G. Ashton Brownlee, as Attorney for L�zzie McCoy and
Zelma McCoy. These refunds being made, due to the fact, that on County Commissioners Sales,
Distribution Nos. 555 and 556, in Mt. Pleasant Township, there was an 11% overcharge on account
of the deductions of 15%, which were made in connection with the surplus monies received on
these sales.
Said amounts are to be taken from the 15% allotted to The Tax Claim Bureau, as
costs, which have been paid to The County by The Tax Claim Bureau on April 21, 1953, by Tax
Liens Nos. 3074 and 3053. Therefore, The Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund
vouchers.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of
$9.17, paid on June 27, 1949, be made payable to E =ett Newman, on the property situate in
Cross Creek Township, described as, House and Lot - Avella. This refund being made due to the
fact, that on June 7, 1946, the amount of $8.24 was paid by Emmett Newman on the1945'County
Tax. Therefore The Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher for this
duplicate payment.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by M;. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the County Treasurer be authorized
to cancel the Tax Sale of 1918, County Commissioners Sale No. 1316, for the 1915 - 1916 and
1917, County, School and Road Taxes, plus costs, for property assessed to A. 0. Wilson, describ-
ed as Lots 869, 870, 871, 872, 873, 874, 875, 876, 877 and 878, Gordon Plan, situate in Canton
Township; inasmuch, as the assessment of these lots was in error, as there was no deed on record
conveying said lots into A. 0. Wilson.
Therefore, The Tax Claim Bureau, The Assessment Office and The Office of The
Prothonotary are hereby directed to mark their records accordingly.

Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following Resolution be
R E S 0 L U T I 0 N
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Commissioners of Washington County that the plans
submitted -by the Pennsylvania Department of Highways for the changing of State Highway Route
