HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - 172 - 1-15-1954 - COMMISSIONER-02 MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA FRANCIS E. PETTIT, W. J. LANE, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS are to be levied and collected by the County during the year 1954; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of Wash- ington, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses of the County, the proper officials of the said County are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate a temporary loan on such terms as may be agreed upon by them, payable out of taxes which are to be levied and collected during the year 1954# and so much of said taxes as may be necessary to repay said loan, with interest, is hereby set aside and designated for that purpose, and issue a note therefor, payable August 7, 1954, with interest from date of said note at the rate of one (1) per cent, per annum, free of all taxes levied by tha Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which said taxes the County of Washington assumes and agrees to pay, said note to be negotiated and issued as follows: WASHINGTON UNION TRUST COMPANY, WASHINGTON, PA .................................... 100,000.00TM Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the County Controller be author- ized to advertise for furnishing Fleet Insurance in a reliable and approved stock company for public liability, property, damage, comprehensive A. C. V., fire, theft, and collision coverage on trucks, automobiles and road builds machinery ry owned and operated by Washington County, � sealed proposals will be received by County Controller, at his office in the Court House, Wash- s ington, Pa., until 11:00 a.m., E.S.T., Monday, February 8, 1954, and opened immediately there- after in the presence of the County Commissioners in the office of the County Commissioners. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the County Controller be author- ized to advertise for bids on Public and Personal Liability Insurance,,and Property Damages for the Court House and adjacent County Property.. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Resolution No. 221, which was adopted on May 2, 1952, Minute No. 29, on the following property, described as frame house and Lot #45, Block 54, Tenth Street, Union Improvement Company Plan of Lots, situate in the Borough Donora, Washington County, Pennsylvania, formerly owned by Paul V. Neel, be rescinded. Motion carried unanimously.
