Director 4 There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meet- ing adjourned. THE FOREGOING MINUTE READ AND APPROVED: NO. 176 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., January 29, 1954 Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Pettit, Lane and Mazza. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of $16.28, paid on August 13, 1953, be made payable to North Charleroi Borough, E. D. Benedetti, Secretary, 812 Center Avenue, North -Charleroi,, -Pa.,, on property located in North Charleroi Borough assessed in the name of Manor Real Estate and Trust Company. This refund being made due to the fact, that on July 29, 1953, the amount of $15*47 was paid on the above property for the 1953 County Tax. Therefore, The Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher for this duplicate payment. Motion -carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr# Mazza, that a refund voucher in the amount of $33.34s paid on August 13, 1953, be made payable to J. E. McDonald Estate c% Vance McDonald, 1009 W. Hibiscus Avenue, Fontana, California, on property situate in Nottingham Township des- cribed as 67 acres surface adjoining McDonald and Morrison. This refund being made due to the fact, that on July 22, 1953, the amount of $31.68 was paid on the above described property for the 1953 County Tax. Therefore, The Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher for this duplicate payment. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded, that the Board of Commissioners, instruct Mr. Harry C rumrine, Chief Engineer, to designate some responsible person in his employ to make quarterly inspection of all County Properties, for the possibility of eliminating any existing hazard; whereby the public might sustain injuries and that the said quarterly reports be in writing and filed in the Engineers Office for the inspection by any interested party. A copy of all reports also to be filed with the Chief Clerk to the County Commissioners. Motion carried. MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA FRANCIS E. LANE, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS Notion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that binder be accepted for a period of ten days beginning at noon on the 29th day of January,,1954 covering B. 1. in the sum of 10,000. and $20,000. and P. D. in the sum of $12000. covering County Property situate on South Main Street between West Beau Street and West Cherry Avenue, and 149 Bridges and approaches of 3.13 miles more or less, this binder being given by MacDonald Weaver, Agent for the New Amsterdam Casualty Company of Baltimore, Maryland. Motion carried. There beingno further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned. Pettit, Lane and Mazza. adopted. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following resolution be RESOLU TrON WHEREAS., at County Treasurer's Tax Sale No. 1431 on January 24, 1940, and at County Treasurer's Tax Sales No. 4244°and 4250 on April 29, 1940, the County of Washington i acquired title to certain properties situate in the Fifth Ward of the City of Washington assessed in the name of Lilley Coal and Coke Company and Calumet Coal Company, for non-payment of taxes; and WHEREAS, on June 1, 1952 Calumet Coal Company redeemed three surface parcels from said tax sales and pursuant to said redemption the County Commissioners executed a deed to Calu- met Coal Company dated Jum 5, 1942 and recorded February 15, 1943 in the Recorder's Office for i said County in Deed Book 665 page 224; and j WHEREAS, said deed recites a resolution of the Board of County Commissioners dated June 1, 19422 authorizing said conveyance, with resolution, through oversight and inadver- tance, does not appear in the Minute Book of the County Commissioners for said date; and WHEREAS., the title to parcels No. 1 and No. 2 in said deed is now vested in Robert C. Beatty by virtue of purchase from Calument Coal Company, who proposes to convey said parcels to a prospective purchaser; and WHEREAS, the title to said parcels has been questiowdty Counsel for the purchaser by reason of the failure of the County Commissioners$ Minutes to show the resolution of June 1, 1942, referred to in the deed to Calumet Coal Company recited above; and WHEREAS., the Board of County Commissioners desire to correct said omission by ratifying and confirming said redemption and the conveyance of June 5, 1942 to Calument Coal � Company. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners does hereby i ratify, confirm and approve redemption by Calument Coal Compam y on June 1, 1942, of three parcels] of surface situate in the Fifth Ward of the City of Washington, more particularly described in I Deed of Washington County Commissioners to Calumet Coal Company, dated June 5, 1942, and recorded February 15, 1943, in the Recorder's Office for said County, in Deed Book 665 page 224, and does hereby further confirm, ratify and approve the conveyance by Washington County Commissioners to Calumet Coal Company of the said three surface parcels by the Deed referred to herein. j 1 11 '7 Motion carried unanimously.
