Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs.
Pettit, Lane and Mazza.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mre Lane, that the County Controller be author-
ized to advertise for bids for the doing of the following items of work complete in connection
with the proposed improvement of the Washington County Airport; located on Route 18 in South
Franklin Township, Washington County. f
Approximate Quantities
1. Clearing & Grubbing -- Lump sum
2e Earth Excavation 250,000 cu. yds.
3. Rock Excavation 30,000 au. yds.

Only competent Earth Moving Contractors paying prevailing union wage scale shall

be considered in awarding the contract. #Proposals submitted by competent bidders for the doing
of only Items of Work numbered 4 to 8 inclusive will be considered by the Commissioners. i
Sealed proposals will be received by the County Controller at his Office in the
I
Court House, Washington, Pa., until 11:00 a.m., E.S.T., March 10, 1954, and opened immediately
thereafter in the Office of the County Commissioners. �
Motion carried.
The following motions were adopted with the Board of Commissioners setting as I
the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes Commission•
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Board for the Assessment
and Revision of Taxes be authorized to prepare vouchers in favor of C. Mc. and Rachel C. Hughey,
119 West Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, Pennsylvania, in the amount of $101.23 representing refund of
County Taxes for the years 1947, 1948, 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952 and 1953, based on a difference in
valuation of 2,000.for the years 1947, 1948, 1949; and a difference in valuation of $1,500 for
the years 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953 on real estate owned by the said C. Mc. & Rachel C. Hughey in
McDonald Borough, such differences in valuation having been effected by a Decree. A compromise
settlement with the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes of the appeal filed by said
property owner in Court of Common Pleas, Washington County, Pennsylvania, No. 179, November Term-
1947, A. D.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Board for the Assessment
and Revision of Taxes be authorized to prepare vouchers in favor of G. S. & Julia Cunningham,
118 West Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, Pennsylvania, in the amount of 97.&17, representing refund
of County Taxes for the years 1947, 1948, 1949, 1950, 19513, 1952 and 1953, based on a difference
in valuation of $2,000 for the years 1947, 1948, 1949; and a difference in valuation of 1090
for the years 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953 on real estate owned by the said G. S. & Julia Cunningham
