settlement with the -Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes of the appeal filed by,said
property owners in Court of Common Pleas, Washington County, Pennsylvania, No- 33, November
Term - 19479 A. D.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meet-
ing adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners and the County Controller met in special session
for the purpose of opening bids for the printing and delivering to the Office of the County
Commissioners the necessary ballots and election supplies required for the conduct of the 1954
Primary Election to be held on May 18, 1954. Those present at the meeting were Commissioners
Pettit, Mazza and Deputy Controller Marino.
In accordance with the aforementioned advertisement, the following bids were
opened and read:
Gentlemen:
In accordance with the advertisement of the County 6ontroller, inviting proposals
for printing and delivering to the Office of the County Commissioners the necessary ballots -for
the conduct of the Primary Election to be held Tuesday, May 18, 1954, having examined the attach-
ed specifications and understanding the same, I(or We) propose to furnish said ballots in accor-
dance therewith at the prices set forth:
Approximately 100.*000 regular white official ballots:
Price per thousand for ballots furnished ....................................$ 38.50
Approximately 200 regular white official Military ballots and as per
specifications as hereinafter set forth... .................................. 38.50
Approximately 20,000 pink official specimen ballots for election districts:
Price -per thousand for specimen ballots furni.shed............:..............$ 19.50
Approximately 10,000 pink official specimen ballots for candidates, (as set
forth in attached specifications)
Price per thousand for specimen ballots furnished ...........................$ 19.50
Approximately five complete sets of specimen ballots for County Board of
Elections -as set forth in attached specifications:

For printing, binding and delivering any re -run of a ballot of any election
district because of error on the part of any county employee:
Minimum charge per district for re -run of 100 ballots or less...............$ 8.25
Charge per 100 re -run ballots for same district in addition to minimum

In accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller, inviting proposals
for the furnishing and delivering to the Office of the County Commissioners the necessary elec-
tion supplies to include computing books, fifty military general return sheets, the required
quantity of military envelopes and instruction sheets (the quantity to be determined by size of
election district), tally sheets, return sheets, envelopes, numbered lists of voters, voter's
certificates, Election Officers' Manuals, etc., required for use of the election officers at the
Primary Election to be held May 18, 1954, having examined the attached specifications and under-
standing the same, I (or We) propose to furnish these supplies in accordance therewith, for the
sum of:
$1683.00
A certified check in the amount of $100.00 is enclosed herewith.

In accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller, inviting proposals
for the delivery of ballot boxes with election supplies for the Primary Election to be held on
May 18, 1954, to Judges of Election for the one hundred eighty-eight (188) Precincts of Washing- i
ton County, I (or We) propose to deliver ballot boxes with election supplies to the one hundred
eighty-eight Judges of Election for the sum of
$ 485.00
A certified check wade payable to Washington County Commissioners, in the amount ;
of $100.-00 is enclosed herewith. !

Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the MONONGAHELA PUBLISHING
COMPANY, Monongaheiai, Pa., and the WARD PRINTING COMPANY, Washington, Pa., be awarded the contract
for furnishing ballots for the 1954 Primary Election for the prices as set forth in their joint
bid; this being the lowest and only bid received.

Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the WILLIAM G. JOHNSTON C€MPANY,'
1130 Ridge Avenue, Pittsburgh 12, Pa., be awarded the contract for the furnishing of Election
Supplies for the 1954 Primary Election for the sum of $1683.00 (trine Thousand Six Hundred Eighty
Three Dollars and No Cents); this being the lowest and only bid received.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that T. M. BEDIL ON, R. D. 4, Wash-
ington, Pa., be awarded the contract for delivering of ballot boxes and election supplies to the
188 Election Precincts in the County for the 1954 Primary Election for the sum of .85.00 (Four
Hundred Eighty Five Dollars); this being the lowest and only bid received.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting
adjourned.
