NOTICE In compliance with the provisions of the Acts of Assembly governing such matters, the proposed budgets for the financial affairs for the Washington County General Fund and the Washington County Institution District for the fiscal year 1954, have been prepared and are available for public inspection in the Office of the Chief Clerk to the County Commissioners, Court House, Washington, Pennsylvania, said budgets to be finally adopted on Thursday, April 1, 1954. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washington, State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issue by the said County of a Note for One Hundred Thousand ($100,000.00) Dollars as a temporary loan, was presented, duly seconded and adopted by the said Board to -wit: "WHEREAS, It has become necessary for said Board to borrow the sum of One Hundrec Thousand ($100,00040) Dollars for the purpose of meeting current expenses for the year 1954, and to be payable out of taxes and other current revenues which have been assessed and are to be levied and collected by the County during the year 1954; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of Wash- ington, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses of the County, the proper officials of the said County are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate a temporary loan on such terms as may be agreed upon by them, payable out of taxes which are to be levied and collected during the year 1954, and so much of said taxes as may be necessary to repay said loan, with interest, is hereby set aside and designated for that purpose, and issue a note herefor, payable August ?, 1954,* with interest from date of said note at the rate of one (1) per cent, per annum, free of all taxes levied by Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which said taxes the County of Washington assumes and agrees to pay, said note to be negotiated and issued as follows: PEOPLES FIRST NATIONAL BANK. AND TRUST COMPANY, WASHINGTON, PA.....................$100,000.00" Motion carried unanimously. R E S O L U T I O N A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUE AND SALE OF ONE HUNDRED TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($120.,000.00) AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT BONDS. WHEREAS, It is necessary that the bonded indebtedness of the County of Wa Pennsylvania, be increased in the sum of One Hundred Twenty Thousand (120,000.00) Dollars for the purpose of providing funds for the improvement of airdromes and aviation landing fields within the County of Washington. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, and it is hereby resolved, SECTION I. That the bonded indebtedness of the County of Washington, Common - wealth of Pennsylvania, be increased by the sum of One Hundred Twenty Thousand ($120,000.00) Dollars for said purpose, by an issue of general obligation coupon bonds of the said County. SECTION 2. Said bonds shall be one hundred twenty(120) in number, numbered consecutively from one (1) to one hundred twenty (120) inclusive, each in the sum of One Thousa 226 MINUTE BOOK. I Any or all of the bonds of this issue numbered 61 to 120 inclusive, shall be subject to redemption at the option of the County of Washington in reverse numerical order, on I November 12 1960, or on any interest payment date thereafter, at par value plus accrued interest, on not less than thirty (30) days' notice to the holders thereof. , Said bonds shall bear interest at a rate to be determined by resolution of the � Board of County Commissioners after acceptance of the highest and best bid submitted in accor- dance with public advertisement as hereinafter provided, payable semi-annually from the date thereof on the first day of the months of May and November in each year. Said bonds shall also provide that the County of Washington will pay or refund i any tax (except gift, succession or inheritance tax) legally levied or assessed upon said bonds or upon the debt secured thereby under any present or future law of the Commonwealth of Pemsyl- vania. SECTION 3. The County Controller is hereby directed to offer the said bonds for sale by advertisement in the manner required by law, to bear interest at the best rate bid in a multiple of one eight of one percent, bids to be opened at the meeting of the Board of County Commissioners to be held on the 12 day of April, 1954o and the County Solicitor is hereby direct ed to prepare the necessary proceedings and to retain the law firm of Burgwin, Ruffin, Perry & Pohl of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to examine the proceedings and issue an approving legal opinion to the successful bidder. SECTION 4. All resolutions or parts of resolutions not in accord with this resolution are hereby repealed in so far as they conflict herewith. PASSED this llth day of March, 1954. Therefore, the Tax Assessment Office is authorized to ! prepare said refund.
