LANE, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS 1 0 fact, that on July 10, 1953, the amount of $15.96 was paid on the above described property for the 1953 County Tax, by Mary Chludzinski. Therefore, The Tax Claim. Bureau is authorized to prepare said refund voucher -for this duplicate payment. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Inane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Alfred Thomas, be appointed as an employee of the Tax Assessment Office in the Field Crew, this action retroactive to March 1, 1954. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Frank R. Pohle, be appointed as a Clerk in the Tax Assessment Office, this action retroactive to March 1, 1954. Motion carried unanimously, Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit; that Evelyn Marshall be appointed as a Cleaning Woman in the Court House, this action retroactive to March 1, 1954. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Lane, that the following Polling Place be changed as follows; due to the fact that the Peters Township High'School is no longer available. Peters Township 1st Precinct From: Peters Township High School To: Municipal Building Rental: $10.00 for Janitor, etc. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following Polling Place be changed as follows; due to the fact that the building was razed. Finleyville Borough From: Civic Club Room To; Roy Price wilding Rental: $10.00 Motion carried unanimously: Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following Field Registration Days be approved. Time 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. March 22, Ellsworth " 23, Fallowfield Borough Building Township Building No. 1 Precinct 228 MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA FRANCI5 E. PETTIT, W. J. LANE, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mp. Mazza, that the Registration office in the Court House, be opened Friday Night, March 26th, 1954, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and on March 27th, 1954, Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until noon; and from 7:00 p-m- to 10:00 p-m., in the evening. The last day for registrations will be March 27, 1954 and change of address cards on March 29, 1954. Motion carried unanimously* Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that a $15,000,00 fire insurance policy covering various buildings of the airport situate in South Franklin Township be given to Mr. Eric Reed, Washington Trust Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, and said insurance tote written on a five (5) year installment plan, effective March 15, 1954- Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza,. that the contract for the Improvement of the Washington County Airport, located on State Routs #1.8, in South Franklin Township be awarded to Joseph Di Cio and Herbert Messenger as follows: TO: THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF WASHINGTON COUNTY, in the STATE of PENNSYLVANIA The undersigned hereby propose(s) to do all the items of work in and about the Improvement of the Washington County Airport; located on State Route #18 in South Frankon Town- ship, Washington County, Pennsylvania; which are listed in this Proposal and which are covered by the Specifications prepared for the said improvement by the County Engineering Department, and to furnish all labor, materials and equipment required therefor; for and in consideration of compensation according to the following schedule of prices. SCHED(JLE OF PRICES APPROXIMATE QUANTITIES CLASSIFICATION UNIT PRICE AMOUNT 1. Unit Clearing & Grubbing Lump Sum ls500.00 2. 250,000 Cu- Yds. Earth Excavation -30 75,000.00 3. 30,000 Cu- Yds. Rock Excavation .90 27,000.00 Total Amount of Bid $103,500.00 The said prices to be in full for all labor; materials; royalties on patented inventions; and for the doing of the said items of work complete. in case this Proposal is accepted and the Contract awarded to me, I will execu your form of Contract and Bonds and further agree that if awarded the Contract, I will commence work within ten (10) calendar days after receipt of written notice to proceed and will furnish the required plant and equipment to fully complete the work ready for use not later than 150 working days after date of receipt of notice to proceed. As a guarantee that I will enter into such Contract and give Bonds as required, I herewith enclose certified check or Bid Bond for an amount equal to at least five (5) per cent of my total bid; payable to Washington County, Pennsylvania. Bidder Joseph Di Cio Canonsburg, Pa. Mr. Di Cio was awarded this portion of the bid being that he was the lowest responsible bidder in the amount of $103,500.00.
