TO: Commissioners of Washington County Washington, Pennsylvania In accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller for furnishing and delivering fifty three (53) gross U. S. Flags, I (or We) propose to furnish and deliver as follows: flags. 53 Gross U. S. Flags, must be 12" x 18", with fast colors, construction of cloth must be 64" x 60"2 hemmed on four (4) sides, flags to be mounted on 30" x 3/80 white wood staff, with 2-3/4" gild spear head; must be delivered by May 15, 1954. Terms 2% 10, Net 30 days, F. 0. B. Collegeville, Pa. A certified check in the sum of $100.00 is herewith enclosed. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids. COLLEGEVILLE FLAG & MFG. CO. Co.,. did not include the price of Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the contract for the furnishing and delivering of the 53 gross U. S. Flags, be awarded to Valley Forge Flag Company, Inc., 200 Fifth Ave., New York 10, N. Y., in the amount of 415.10 per gross; this being the lowest bid received. Motion carried. There being no further business to come Before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Minute Nos. 180, 181, 181-A, 1822 I 183, 184, 1851 1862 187, 188, 189, 190, 191, 192, and 193, were read and approved. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that John Rastoka, be appointed as a member of the Field Crew of the Tax Assessment Office; this action retroactive to March lei, 1954.' Motion carried unanimously. LANE, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS s E E THE FOREGOING MINUTE READ AND APPROVED: NO. 195 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., April 2, 1954 Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Pettit, Lane and Mazza. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the budget for the General Fund for the County of Washington for the fiscal year 1954 be finally adopted by the County Commissioners; the said budget having been available for public inspection in the Office of the Chief Clerk to the County Commissioners from March 11, 1954 to this date, in accordance I with the provisions of the Act of Assembly of July 18, 1935, and the rate of taxation upon the valuation of properties of the County of Washington, in order to tax sufficient revenue to meet required expenditures for the fiscal year 1954, be fixed at eight (8) mills, which makes the payment of taxes in the amount of eighty (80) cents upon each $100 of assessed valuation of real estate and occupation. Motion carried unanimously. There,being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the following resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washington, State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issue by the said County of a Note for One Hundred Thousand ($100,000.00) Dollars as a temporary loan, was presented, duly seconded and adopted by the said Board, to wit: "WHEREAS, It has become necessary for said Board to borrow the sum of One Hundred Thousand (9100,9000.00) Dollars for the purpose of meeting current expenses for the year 1954, and to be payable out of taxes and other current revenues which have been assessed and are to be levied and collected by the County during the year 1954; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of Washing- ton, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses of the County, the proper officials of the said County are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate a tempo- I
