LANE, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the bids be tabled until Chief County Engineer tabulates and makes a further studyof the analysis of the coal as per specifica- tions. Motion carried. At this time, Commissioner Lane entered the meeting, and bids for the Mimeograph Machine were opened and read: August 19, 1954 TO: Commissioners of Washington County Washington, Pennsylvania In accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller for furnishing and delivering of One (1) A. B. Dick Mimeograph Machine Model 445 (AC) Current with Model 22 Cabinet,: to the Court House, Washington, Pennsylvania, I (or We) propose to furnish and deliver said machine as follows: Bid on Mimeograph and Cabinet $ 1031.05 Less Federal Tax $ 57.90 Less State Sales Tax $ 8.15 Less Trade -In Allowance on One (1) A. B. Dick Mimeograph Model 92 E $ 150.00 TOTAL BID $ 815,00 A certified check in the sum of $100*00 is hdrewith enclosed. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids. Office Equipment & Supply Co. (Dame of Bidder) 114 , N. Pena. Ave. (Address) Greensburg, Penna. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Office Equipment & Supply Co. of 114 N. Penna. Ave., Greensburg, Penna,, be awarded the contract for the delivering of one (1) A. B. Dick Mimeograph Machine to the Washington County Court House for the sum of $815*00, being the only responsible bidder. Motion carried. There being; no further business to came before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned. THE FOREGOING MINUTE READ AND APPROVED: NO. 222 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., August 27, 1954 Board of County Commissioners in regular session those present being Messrs, Pettit, Lane and Mazza. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes be authorized to authorized to prepare voucher for refund in favor of Gilbert J. & Gloria M. Vetter, Pittsburgh, Pa., in Peters Township in the amount of $1.05, covering 1953 County Tax paid at penalty on an assessment described as "Plot 150 x 375 adj. This assessment is a duplication with his proper assessment described as "l Acre surface adj. Bell", on which the taxes are paid, added to the records as coming from John N. Bell Heirs and is one and the same as the former assessment of "Plat 150 x 375" from John N. Bell. Therefore, The Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes is hereby authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $1.05. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. bane, that a refund voucher in the amount of $19.95 be made payable to Paul C. & Romaine B. Snoke, R. D. 2, Washington, Pa-, on property situ- ate in South Strabane Township described as 6 room stone house, garage, unfinished and 5.1162 acres surface route 31. The amount of $19.95 was paid on June 17, 1954 and again on July 28, 1954 creating a duplicate payment. This refund is being made, due to the fact, that Mr. Snake paid on the above described property twice, thus creating a duplicate payment. Therefore, The Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said voucher for the refund of this payment on the 1954 County Tax in the said amount of $19.95. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. bane, that a refund voucher in the amount of 8.12, be made payable to Walter C. do Norma 0, Hollander, R. D. 2, Canonsburg, Pa., on property situate in Peters Township, described as Barn, 18 acres surface adjoining Doud and 33 acres sur- face adjoining Bell -McMurray and Plot 40 x 241.86 adjoining McMurray. This refund being made, due to the fact, that on June 28, 1954s, the County Tax for the year 1954 was paid in the amount of $42.40 at net; the tax was reduced by Tax Adjustment No. 885 stating that plot 40 x 241.86 was sold for a right of way but this was not removed from the assessment, the correct net payment be $34.28. Therefore, The Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said voucher for this refund in the amount of $8.12. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr., bane,, that a refund voucher in the amount of $1.00, be made payable to Grace Rinehart, 1045 Magnolia Drive, Washington, Pa., the 1954 County i Tax was paid on June 21, 1954 in the amount of $42.90, This refund being made, due to the fact, that by Tax Adjustment No. 816 removing the name and occupation of Kenneth P. Rinehart the tax was reduced to $41.90, thus making an over payment of $1.00. Therefore, The Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said voucher for this refund in the amount of $1.00. Motion carried: Motion by Mr. Vane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following Polling Place be changed as follows; due to the fact that the D. I. Sefton Building is being razed. Chartiers Township - 3rd Precinct From: D. I. Sefton Building To: Craig Building Rental: $15.00 Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following Polling Place be changed as follows; due to the fact that the I.Q.O.F. Building is no longer available. Beallsville From: I.C.O.F. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Personal Property Department in the Tax Assessment Office, be authorized to prepare a refund voucher in the amount of $22.80 be made payable to William S. Martin, 218 Fairview Avenue, Johnson City, Tennessee, said refund to cover 1954 Personal Property Tax on a Mortgage which was assigned to the OrientoLl Missionary Society as a gift December 1953• The tax of $22.80 was paid on July 79 1954 and removed from the Personal Property Book by Adjustment #373- Mr. Martin should not of filed the above mort- gage for the year 1954, because of the fact that he did not have the mortgage on January 1, 1954* Therefore., The Personal Property department is hereby authorized to prepare said refund voucher in the amount of $22.80. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Louis J, Jehnen, who resides at Liberty Street, McDonald, Pa., be appointed as Assessor of McDonald Borough to fill the vacancy which exists by the resignation of James Davidson. Motion carried.
