LANE, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time,•the meet- ing adjourned. THE FOREGOING MINUTE READ AIM APPROVED: Office of the County Commissioners Washington., Pa., November 8., 1954 Board of County Commissioners in regular session,those present being Messrs* Pettit, Lane and Mazza. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following Resolution in re- gards to Elco Hill be adopted. R E S 0 L U T 1 0 N The Commissioners of Washington County; being in regular session assembled and being familiar with the inconveniences caused by the closing of Elco Hill Route 88, Washington County to traffic during removal of earth and rock slide on Elco Hill. The Borough of California is being deprived of a great amount of business done with the communities of Elco and Roscoe., ar4 the private contractor who opt-rAteiq the buses to ttanbport­th6 bbhool children to'and Prom -the various school districts involved -,are suffering great loss due to the,extralmileage necessar.# because of the detour via Speers and the additional time put in by the operators -of these buses., have taken the following action; Motion duly made and seconded that the Washington County petition the Pennsylvani Department of Highways to take steps to expedite the removal of this earth and rock by using ad- ditional equipment, and if possible open the road to one way traffic thereby giving partial re- lief to the residents of these communities. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza., that the following resolution in regards to the economic conditions of Washington County be adopted. R E S 0 L U T 1 0 N WHEREAS, the economic conditions of Washington County have deteriorated over the past years; and I WHEREAS., Washington County is in the need of diversified industry; and WHEREAS., it is the wish of Washington County that all the segements of our population be interested in the problem of industrial development of our County - NOW., THEREFORE., BE IT RESOLVED, that the Washington County Commissioners in regular session unanimously agree that there shall be created a Washington County Industrial Development Committee operating on a bi-partisan basis for the purpose of improving our industrial developments by pooling the resources of all segments of the County, thereby inducing additional industries to establish their facilities within our County. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza., that Mary Danek., Telephone Operator at the Court House be transferred to the Child Welfare as a Visitor replacing Helen Marie Doty; this action to be effective November 16, 1954. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Josephine Piccioni., be transfer- red from the Tax Assessment Office to the Registration Office; this action to be effective November 16., 1954. E I
