Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the County Controller be authoriz-1 ed to advertise for Fleet Insurance in. A, reliable and approved stock company for public liabil ity, property damage, comprehensive A.C.V., fire, theft and collision coverage on trucks, auto- mobiles and road -building machinery owned and operated by Washington County; such bids to be received by the County Controller in his Office in the Court House, Washington, Pa., until 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 7, 1955, and opened immediately thereafter in the Office of the County Commissioners. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the County Controller be author- ized to advertise for a policy of insurance for Public Liability within the limits of 20,000.00 to 100,000.00 and Property Damage not to exceed $1,000.00 for each accident in a reliable and approved stock company, protecting the County of Washington against liability imposed by law upon them for damage on account of personal injuries, including death accidentally suffered by any persons (excepting employees) caused by or resulting from the existence of, repairing, operating, and/or maintenance of the various buildings, properties and operations of the County, including 149 bridges and approaches,.and protecting the County of Washington against property damage imposed by law upon them for amount not to exceed $1,000.00 for each accident. Bids to be received by the County Controller in his Office in the Court House, Washington, Pa., until 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 24, 1955, and opened immediately thereafter in the Office of the County Commissioners. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meet - ing adjourned. Lane and Pettit. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded'by Mr. Pettit, that the following Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washington, State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issue by the said County of a Note for One Hundred Thousand ($100i000.00) Dollars as a temporary loan, was presented, duly seconded and adopted by the said Board, to wit: "WHEREAS, It has become necessary for said Board to borrow the sum of One Hundred Thousand ($100,000.00) Dollars for the purpose of meeting current expenses for the year 1955, and to be payable out of taxes and other current revenues which have been assessed and are to be levied and collected by the County during the year 1955; now, therefore, 390 MINUTE ■■ BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA FRANCIs E. LANE, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of 0ounty Commissioners of the said County of Washing ton, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses of the County, the proper officials of the said County are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate a tem- porary loan on such terms as may be agreed upon by them, payable out of taxes which are to be levied and collected during the year 1955, and so much of said taxes as may be necessary to repay said loan, with interest, is hereby set aside and designated for that purpose, and issue a note therefore, payable August 8, 1955, with interest from date of said note at the rate of one (1) per cent, per annum, free of all taxes levied by Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which said taxes the County of Washington assumes and agrees to pay, said note to be negotiated and issued as follows: PEOPLES FIRST NATIONAL BANK AND TRUST COMPANY, WASHINGTON, PA....................$100,000,00" Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the following resolution in re - Bard to the Estate of George M. Ramsey,'also known as George Mcllvaine Ramsey, deceased be adopted: R E S O L U T I O N TO THE HONORABLE, THE PRESIDENT JUDGE OF THE ORPHANS' COURT: This is to certify that at a regular meeting of the County Commissioners of Wash- ington County, Pennsylvania, held on January 12, 1955, a resolution was adopted as follows:- "TrMREAS, by his will dated December 24.th, 1901, and found of record in Will g Book 18 at Page 574 in the Office of the Register of Wills for Washington County, Pennsylvania, George M. Ramsey, a/k/a George Mcllvaine Ramsey provided, among other things, 'I also appoint said grand niece executor of the foregoing will. After which I will & bequeath to the dorporation of Washington County, Pa., all my real estate in perpetuity to be held in trust for the use & benefit of indigent Orphans under fourteen (14) years of age who are lineal descendents of my Father Josiah Ramsey deceased.' and imposed onerous conditions upon the use and management of the real estate of the decedent which consists of a farm in South Bttrabane Township, and WHEREAS, The County Commissioners are advised that the purported trust is an invalid private trust and contrary to public policy, and, WHEREAS, Washington County has been made a party to a proceeding in the Orphans' Court of Washington County, Pennsylvania, at No. 1 of 1954, and WHEREAS, The only real estate of the decedent is of such doubtful value and I the claims of Washington County are of such little merit that Washington County is not justified participating in such litigation." I NOW, THEREFORE, be it I RESOLVED, That Washington County do and by this action does renounce all its 1 right, title and interest in and to the estate of and under the will of George M. Ramsey, a/k/a George McIlvaine Ramsey, whose will is of record in Will Book 18, Page 574. RESOLVED, FURTHER, That the Chief Clerk certify a copy of this resolution to the President Judge of the Orphans' Court of Washington County, Pennsylvania, and file the same in such proceeding as a part of the record at No. 1 of 1954, Seal of Washington Qounty Joseph Di Filippo Chief Clerk to the Washington County Commissioners Motion carried.
