Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs.
Pettit, Lane and Mazza.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the County Controller be authoriz-
ed to advertise for Steel and Erection thereof for the Smith Bridge #39, Ten Mile Creek; bids to
be received by the County Controller in his Office in the Court House, Washington, Pa., until
11:00 a.m., Monday, February 14, 1955, and opened immediately thereafter in the Office of the
County Commissioners.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the policy for the furnishing of
insurance be awarded to HENRY G. HOOD & SONS, 51 South Main Street, Washington, Pa., agent for
THE EMPLOYERS' LIABILITY ASSURANCE CORPORATION, LTD., for Public Liability and Property Damage
be awarded for a period of one year at the total bid of 392.80; this being the lowest respon-
sible bid received.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the McCormick Drilling Co., Main
Street, Bentleyville, Pa., be awarded the contract to drill a hater well at the Washington
County Airport at their bid price of $3.00 per linear foot; this being the lowest responsible
bid received.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following resolution on proper
lighting of the intersection in Speers Borough be adopted.
R E S 0 L U T I 0 N
The County Commissioners of Washington County, in regular session, fully realizing
the potential traffic volume on the Turnpike feeder other wise known as Traffic Route No. 31,
adopted the following resolution;
WHEREAS, the newly constructed Route which intersects with Legislative Routes 118,
268 and 62097, at a point in Speers Borough at Station 3290 + 36, we respectfully petition the
Pennsylvania Department of Highways to provide adequate lighting facilities at these particular
intersections. It is the opinion of the Board that the requested lighting facilities will serve
as a great safety factor in the prevention of highway accidents.
The aforesaid resolution being her unanimously adopted on January 26, 1955.
