BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHIN13TON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
FRANCIS E. PETTIT, W. J. LANE, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that W, P. Ferguson, who resides at
R. D. fts Hanlin Station, Pa., be appointed as Assessor of Hanauer Township, to fill the vacancy
which exists by the death of J. A. Gilliland.
Motion carried,
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Reed J. Dunn, be appointed as a
temporary Draftsman in the Tax Assessment Offices this action being retroactive to July 8, 1955.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Glenn Hennen, be appointed as
Field Assessor in the Tax Assessment Office; this action being retroactive to July 18, 1955.
Motion carried,
At this time, Mr. i~31ah, County Controller, and Chief Engineer Mr. Crmnrine, enterer'
the meeting for the purpose of awarding the Contract for the removal of dirt and rock for the
extension of the runway at the County Airport,
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that SUPERIOR COAL CO., Box 34, Lawrence,
Pa., Owner Carlo Teodori, be awarded the contract for the removal of dirt and rock for the exten-
sion of the runway at the County Airport, located on State Route #18, South Franklin Township,
Washington County, for the sum of 86,401.10, after a complete study had been made and the
Superior Goal Co. found to be the lowest responsible bidder.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting
adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in special session, those present being Commissioners
Pettit, Lane and Mazza..
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Hubert Kyper, be appointed as a
field assessor in the Tax Assessment Office; this action being retroactive to July 21, 1955,
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Lane seconded by Mr. Mazza, that George Rizak, be appointed as a
field assessor in the Tax Assessment Office; this action being effective August 1, 1955.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Lane, that William L. W.i.nnett, be appointed
as engineer at the Washington County Airport, Account No. 5111 this action being effective
August 1, 1955.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the Registration Office in the
Court House, Washington, Pa., remain open on Friday, July 29, 1955 from 9:00 a,m, to 4:00 p.m.,

and in the evening from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., in order to accommodate persons wishing to
