BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
FRANCIS E. PETTIT, W. J. LANE, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS
Board of County Commissioners and the County Controller met in special session for
the purpose of opening bids for the supplies used by the Tax Assessment Office for the year 1956,
Those present at the meeting were Commissioner Pettit and Controller E1ish.
One bid was received from the Mononghhela Publishing Company for the supplies to be
used in the Tax Assessment Office and due to the lack of a quorum this only bid was tabled.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting
adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in special session for the purpose of awarding con. -
tract for supplies to be used by the Tax Assessment Office for the year 1956; these bids were
opened and tabled at the morning session. Those present at the meeting were Commissioners Pettit,
Lane and Controller Elish.
In accordance with the aforementioned advertisement, the following bid was opened:

In response to your solicitation for bids for furnishing materials and services
for the Tax Assessment Department of your County, as advertised in The Washington Observer under
date of August 1, 1955, the undersigned bidder proposes to furnish each of the following items at
the unit price shown for each item:

Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the Monongahela Publishing Co,,,
Monongahela, Pennsylvania, be awarded the contract for the furnishing and delivering of supplies
for the 1956 Tax Assessment work in the Office of the Board For The Assessment and Revision of
Taxes for the sum. of $2,943.47; this being the lowest and only responsible bid received.
Motion carried unanimously, with Mr. Elish leaving the meeting and the Commis-
sioners conducting the following regular business.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Robert Bertolotti, be appointed
as a temporary employee in the Field Crew of the Tax Assessment Office; this action being retro-
active to August 16, 1955.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the County Controller be authoriz-
ed to advertise for bids for the furnishing and delivering of coal to the Court House and Jail
for the 1955-1956 season. Bids to be received by the County Controller in his Office in the
Court House, Washington, Pa., until 3.1:00 a.m., Daylight Saving Time.,. Monday, September 12, 1955,
and opened immediately thereafter in the Office of the Washington County Commissioners.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting
adjourned.
