Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. Lane, that Goldie Vitteck, be appointed as a
Cleaning Woman at the Courthouse, this action being retroactive to September 2, 1955.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Catherine Patterson, be appointed
as a Cleaning Woman at the Courthouse, this action being retroactive to .August 16, 1955.
adjourned.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting

Washington, Pa., September 21, 1955
Board of County Commissioners in special session for the purpose of awarding the
contract for the furnishing of coal for the heating of the Courthouse and County Jail, Washington,
Pennsylvania, bids were opened- at the meeting of September 12, 1955. Those present being
Commissioners Pettit, Lane, Mazza and Controller Eli.sh.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the Coal Contract for the 1955-
1956 season for the furnishing and delivering of coal to ,the Court House and County Jail as per

specifications attached to the submitted bid, be awarded to-HAWN CREEK COAL CORPORATION, 16io
First National Bank Building, Pittsburgh 22, Pennsylvania, the bid being $5.94 per ton including
delivery and $4,94 per ton without delivery; this being the lowest responsible bidder.
Motion• carried, With Controller Elish being excused from the meeting and the fol—
lowing regular business was conducted.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that a refund voucher in the amount
of $15.44 be made payable to Harlan & Martha Duke, 515 Finley St., Monongahela, Pa., on property
situate in the 2nd Ward of Monongahela, described as 2 story frame house and lot, the amount of
$15.44 was paid on August 1, 1955 by Mr. Duke, a duplicate payment was created when the First
Federal Saving and Loan Company paid the amount of $16.25 on August 29, 1955, on the same property
and for the same year of 1955 County Tax. Therefore, the Tax Claim Bureau, is authorized to
prepare said voucher for the refund of $15.44 for this duplicate payment.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that a refund voucher in the amount
of $18.05 be made payable to Clyde B. Smith, 33 Center Avenue, Burgettstowu, Pa., on property
described as 2 story frame house, Lot 33, situate in Burgettstoun Borough. The amount of $17.15
was paid on August 1, 1955 by Mr. Smith and on August 16. 1955 the amount of $18.05 was also paid
by Mr. Smith, thus creating a duplicate payment. Therefore, the Tax Claim Bureau is hereby
authorized to prepare said voucher for the said remind of $18.05 for this duplicate payment to
