LOWSTUTER, COMMISSIONERS Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that a Purchasing Agency be established for Washington County, effective January 51 1948. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that David H. Weiner be appointed Solicitor to the County Commissioners. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Laney seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the regular Board meetings be held on Monday and Friday of each week at 10 A. M., unless otherwise specially scheduled. Motion carried. Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the Board adjourned to meet at 3 P. M., to make the various appointments for the year 1948, coming under their jurisdiction. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that Joseph DiFilippo be appointed s as Voucher Clerk in the County Commissioners' Office for the year 1948, covering the period from the first Monday in January, 1948, to the first Monday in January, 1949, with proviso I that he may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice. Motion carried. ]Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that Lulu Henry, be appointed as Matron of the Juvenile Detention Home for the year 1948, covering the period from the first Monday in January, 1948, to the first Monday in January, 1949, with proviso that she may be s dismissed upon thirty days' notice. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that the following named persons be appointed as employees in the Engineering and Bridge Department in the respective capacities set forth for the year 1948, covering the period from the first Monday in January, 1948, to the first Monday in January, 1949, with proviso that each may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice: H. B. Crumrine, Engineer Dushan J. Nicksick, Draftsman J. Harold Chapman, Draftsman Olga C. Fernandez, Stenographer Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that Paul J. Notion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that the following persons be appointed as employees in the Real Estate Department in the respective capacities set forth for the year 1948, covering the period from the first Monday in January, 1948, to the first Monday in January, 1949, with proviso that each may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice: E. M. Lheureau, Jr., Office Manager Morgan Hoge, County Property Manager Julia Boris, Typist Lillian Elonzae, Typist Amor Halliburton, Clerk John Packrall, Rent Collector Michael A. Hanna, Clerk Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter that the following named persons be appointed as employees in the Veterans' Affairs Office in the respective capacities set forth for the year 1948, covering the period from the first Monday in January, 1948, to the first Monday in January, 1949, with proviso that each may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice: James J. Reardon, Director of Veterans' Affairs Edward Bettinelli, Clerk Edith Guidas, Secretary Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that the following persons be appointed as regular employees in the Registration Office in the respective capacities set forth for the year 1948, covering the period from the first Monday in January, 1948, to the first Monday in January, 1949, with proviso that each may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice: Steve Shook, Chief Registrar and Inspector of Registrations Julia Biba, Registrar and Inspector of Registrations (effective 1-16-48) Donald C. Hallam, Clerk Frances Flis, Clerk Carmella Gilmore, Clerk Betty Tokar, Clerk Gino P . Amanati, Clerk Motion carried, notation of the foregoing action to be made on the minutes of the Registration Commission. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that Betty Jane ftgus be appointed as the Jury Commissioners' Secretary in the respective capacities set forth for the year 1948, covering the period from the first Monday in January, 1948, to the first Monday in January, 1949, with proviso that she may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that the following persons be appointed as employees in the Purchasing Department in the respective capacities set forth for the year 1948, covering the period from the first Monday in January, 1948, to the first Monday in January, 1949, with proviso that each may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice: Alex Debreezeni, Jr., Purchasing Agent Mary A. Notion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Mike Spridik be appointed as Supervisor of Cleaning Staff for the year 1948, covering the period from the first Monday in January, 1948, to the first Monday in January, 1949, with proviso that he may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice. Question called for: Voting "Yes", Commissioners Pettit and Lane. Voting "No", Commissioner Lowstuter. This being a majority, the motion was declared carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that Frank Caruso be appointed as County Garage Superintendent and Thomas H: Russell as Watchman at the County Garage for the year 1948, covering the period from the first Monday in January, 1948, to the first Monday in January, 1949, with proviso that each may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that John L. Harris be appointed as Sealer of Weights and Measures and P. J. Pavlak be appointed as Assistant Sealer of Weights and Measures for the year 1948, covering the period from the first Monday in January, 1948, to the first Monday in January, 1949, with proviso that each may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice.
