LOWSTUTER, COMMISSIONERS in r L_ officials, Chairman, Francis E. Pettit of the Board of County Commissioners; the Controller, Harvey Stuart; and the Treasurer, Peter Elish of Washington County to have access to the Safety Deposit Box with the stipulation that two of said persons must be present to open the box and the names of the officials to be certified to the Washington Union Trust Company by the Chief Clerk to the County Commissioners. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned. THE FOREGOING MINUTES READ AND APPROVED: February b, 19948 ATTEST : I//'t. At.'� NO. 9 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., January 20, 1948 Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Pettit, Lane and Lowstuter. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Vincent R. Massock be appointed Solicitor for the County Controller. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that H. Russell Stahlman be appointed Solicitor for the Recorder of Deeds. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that dames R. Knox be appointed Solicitor for the Sheriff: Motion carried. County Controller Stuart called into the meeting for the purpose of awarding contracts for construction of Huffman Bridge, Pigeon Creek #21, Somerset Township and Farrar Bridge, Raccoon Creek #29, Smith Township. Accordingly, motion was made by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the contract for said Huffman Bridge, Pigeon Creek #21, Somerset Township, be awarded to Charles Balazick, Jefferson, Pa., at his bid of 5769.75; this being the lowest bid received. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by III. Pettit, that the contract for said Farrar Bridge, Raccoon Creek #29, Smith Township, be awarded to Kean -Wise, Inc., Centennial !Avenue, Sewickley, Pa., at the bid of $4312.90; this being the lowest bid received. Motion carried, with County Controller Stuart present when this action was taken and instructed to return the certified checks of the unsuccessful bidders.
