LOWSTUTER, COMMISSIONERS Motion duly made and seconded that the Budget for the General Fund of the County of Washington for the fiscal year 1948 be finally adopted as advised by the County Commissioners, the said Budget having been available for public inspection in the Office of the Chief Clerk to the County Commissioners from March 6, 19489 to this date, in accordance with the provisions of the Act of Assembly of July 18, 1935, and the rate of taxation upon the valuation of properties of the County of Washington, in order to tax sufficient revenue to meet required expenditures forvthe fiscal year 1948, be fixed at five and one-fourth (5J) mills, which makes the payment of taxes in the amount of fity-two and one-half cents (5* upon each $100.00 of assessed valuation of real estate and occupations. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr.,Lowstuter, that Jay Troutman, Washington, Pa., be appointed a member of ,the Washington County Housing Authority, following the resignation of George Young, effective March 29, 1948. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned. Glenn Mitchell, B. H. Pees and Alfred D. Morrison. Mr. Crunrine present as the County's Bridge Engineer and Mr. J. Boyd Spillman, Secretary to the Board of Somerset Township. Mr. David H. Weiner representing the Commissioners and Mr. Barren P. MooCume representing the Supervisors. A°meeting is called for the purpose of determining the status of the Majoris Bridge, crossing Pigeon Creek on Township Road Nb. 511 in Somerset Township. At a discussion between Mr. McCune and Mr. Weiner, Mae. McCune stated that the Super- visors did not wish to pay a part of the cost of the reconstruction of the Majoris Bridge and did not wish to maintain it after it was built but inasmuch as the Order of Court exists at No. 11, August Term, 1947, (ROADS) authorising the County to assist in the reconstruction of the Bridge, the question was raised whether or not the County could begin reconstructing a now Bridge and at the sane time the Supervisors begin proceedings for the appointment of Viewers to establish the Bridge as a County Bridge. It was agreed that it would be possible to begin reconstructing immediately and it would be possible for the Supervisors to begin their legal action to determine the Bridge as a County Bridge immediately. Thereupon, the Commissioners indicated their willingness to have the Supervisors go ahead and petition for the appointment of' Viewers and indicated that they did not oppose the establishing of the Bridge as a CIounty Bridge,, Mr. Pettit, speaking for the Board of Commissioners, said that they have no intention 29
