Board of County Commissioners in special session, those present being Commissioners
Pettit, Lane and Lowstuter.
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorized to advertise
for bids for the furnishing and printing of supplies for use of the Tax Assessment Office for
the year 1949 and for the binding of approximately four hundred (400) tax duplicates and
assessment books.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter that the the floor to be laid in the
room formerly called the "Dungeon" is to be laid by the Gutbro Construction Company, Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, at the rate of seventy-five ($.75) cents per square foot.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting
adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Pettit
and Lowstuter.
Controller Stuart called into the meeting for the purpose of opening bids received
in accordance with advertisement of the County Controller for furnishing coal for heating the
Court House and Jail, and for the furnishing and printing of supplies required for use of
Election Officers on November 2,- 1945, and for the printing and delivering of ballets, election''
supplies and ballot boxes to the various Judges of Election.
In accordance therewith, the following bids were received, open and read:

In accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller, inviting proposals
for furnishing coal to heat the Court House and County Jail at Washington, Pennsylvania, having

examined the attached specifications and understanding the same, I (or We) submit the follow-
ing bids:
$7.10 per ton including delivery
6.50 per ton without delivery
A certified check in the sum of $500.00 is herewith enclosed.
Price subject to change at mine, either increase or decrease.

for furnishing coal to heat the Court House and County Jail at Washington Pennsylvania, having
examined the attached specifications and understanding the same, I (or Wei submit the follow-
ing bids:
$8.45 per ton including delivery
6.95 per ton without delivery
A certified check in the sum of $500.00 is herewith enclosed.
NOTE: The following is an excerpt from letter accompanying bid:
"This quotation as well as subsequent deliveries or purchases at our
Yard #11 is subject to the present mine wage scale`, priorities, strikes,
disasters, government regulations or other unavoidable circumstances."

Motion duly made and seconded that the contract for furnishing and delivering coal
for heating the Court House and County Jail, Washington, Pa., be awarded to NORTON WRIGHT and
MIKE KUZY, 1190 Arch Street-1120 Bruce Street, Washington, Pa., coal to be delivered from the
Washington Mine of the Hillman Coal and Coke Company, Washington, Pa.; theirs being the lowest
and best bid received.
Motion carried, with the County Controller instructed to return certified check to
the unsuccessful bidder.
Also, in accordance therewith, the following bid for printing and delivering ballots,
being the only one received, was opened and read:
