LOWSTUTER, COMMISSIONERS 97 1 l 1 NO. 91 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., January 27, 1949 Board of County Commissioners in special session, those present being Messrs. Lane and Lowstuter. Motion duly made and seconded that the following persons be named to the Official Return Board to compute the votes cast at the Special Election to be held February 8, 1949; this Special Election held for the purpose of increasing the indebtedness for the improving of the Water System in the Borough of Ciaysville: W. W. Croner Margaret Babish Adah Dons , Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorised to advertise for bids for Fleet Insurance for public liability, property damage, fire, theft and collision coverage on truck and automobile equipment and road building machinery owned and operated by Washington County; such bids to be received by the County Controller in his Office in the Court House, Washington, Pa., until 11:00 a.m., EST, Monday, February 11+, 1949, and opened immediately thereafter. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes be authorised to prepare voucher for refund in the amount of 71+f in favor of Galls, D. Huston, 54 Seminole Avenue, Washington, Pa., representing 1948 County Tax paid an Lot No. 105, Mapleview Plan, South Strabane Township, the assessment on said Lot being a duplication of Lot No. 105, Mapleview Plan, Washington 7th Ward, properly assessed to Galia D. Huston (Houston) in the said 7th Ward wherein Lot No. 105 in the Mapleview Plan is located as is evidenced by the City map; the said duplicate payment in South Strabane Township having been made tm the, County Treasurer under date of July 29, 1948, as per receipt attached. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the appeal of Percy S. & Alda C. Wilson, to No. 458 August Term 1947 A. D. be compromised by fixing the assessed valuation on the subject property in McDonald Borough for the years1947, 1948, and 1949 as follows: 2 Sty, Br. Storeroom $89325 Pt. LOWSTUTER, CommISSIONERS Motion duly made and seconded that the Board of County Commissioners cooperate with the School District and Township Supervisors of East Pike Run Township in their request for the removal of the assessment of "Boiler House and Tipple", carried in the name of Winfield Brothers Coal Company in said Township for the years 1942 through 1945, the said improvements having been removed prior to the year 191+2 as set forth in Resolutions submitted to this Board by the respective taxing units aforesaid; that the proper notation be made on the assessment records for the years set forth above and that the Tax Claim Bureau of Washington County be authorised to cancel existing liens for the said years resulting from the erroneous assessment. Motion carried.. Lotion duly made and seconded by the Washington County Commissioners that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel the following described tax sales: (a) Lot 4, along with Lots 3 and 34 were sold on Jne 12, 1928, to Washington County for $15.09 for non- payment of the 1926 taxes as property of Isaac Davis. (b) Lot 5 was sold on December ll, 1928, to Washington County for $12.1+1 as property of William Goodlet for non-payment of the taxes for the years 1925 and 1927. a (c) Lots 9 and 10 were sold on June 120 1928, to Wash- ington County for $13.09 as property of Weal Harvey for R non-payment of the taxes for 1926 and 1927. (d) Lot 84, was sold an June 12, 1928, to Washington County for $14.13 as property of John W. Smith or Join W. Smith, Jr., for non-payment of taxes for the years 1925, 1926 and 1927. The above sales should be void and cancelled, in as much as, the title of the purchaser of said lots was divested by execution and sheriff's sale on the bond accompanying 1a prior mortgage at No. 55, May Term, 1930, E. D. The Prothonotary is directed to make the proper entry in his Treasurer's Deed i Book and other records. Motion carried. Lotion duly made and seconded that the Tax Claim Bureau and the County Treasurer The authorized to abate the penalties and interest on the 1935, 1936 and 1937 County Tax amoumt'` ing to $97.20 on the property of Carlo Battaglini, who is assessed in East Bethlehem Township with Lots #100-102 in Milfred Terrace, Stone House & 108 # 8 Main Street, Brick House & Lot #10, Frame House & Lot #10, all in Frederiektown, Pa. This action is taken in conjunction with similar action taken by the East Bethlehem School and Township Districts as per letters filed in the Tax Claim Bureau. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the Tax Claim Bureau and the County Treasurer be authorized to abate the interest on the 1925 County Tax amounting to $12.08 on the property of Joseph Porgo, who is assessed in Canonsburg 1st Ward with 1 story, frame house and lot on 108 Tannehill Street. This action was taken being that the lien in question had not been revived since May 1, 1939. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the Tax Claim Bureau and the County Treasurer be authorised to abate the interest on the 1930 County Tax amounting to $10.69 on the property
