LOWSTUTER, COMMISSIONERS adopted by said Board, to -wits WHEREAS, It has become necessary for said Board to borrow the sum of One Hundred Thousand ($100,000.00) Dollars for the purpose of meeting current expenses for the year 1949, and to be payable out of taxes and other current revenues which have been assessed and are to be levied and collected by the County during the year 1949; and now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of Washington, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses of the County, the proper officials of the said County are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate a tem- porary loan on such terms as may be agreed upon by them, payable out of taxes which are to,,.be levied and collected during the year 1949, and so much of said taxes as may be necessary to repay said loan, with interest, is hereby set aside and designated for that purpose, and issue a note therefor, payable August 5, 1949, with interest from date of said note at the rate of one (1) per cent per annum, free of all taxes levied by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which said taxes the County of Washington assumes and agrees to pay, said note to be negotiated and issued as follows: WASHINGTON UNION TRUST COMPANY, Washington, Pa. $100,000.00 Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the Washington County Commissioners abate the penalties and interest on the 1936, 19399 1940, 1946 and 1947 County Taxes on the property of John Patrich, assessed in East Bethlehem Township as Store, House and Lot, Sec. 17, Piersol l i Plan be abated, $3.44 being the amount of the penalty and $21.59 being the amount of the interest being abated. This action is taken in conjunction with similar action taken by the k East Bethlehem Township School District and the East Bethlehem Township Commissioners. j Motion carried. The following action was taken with Commissioners Pettit and Lane present. Motion duly made and seconded that John Karan, be hired as a Semi -Skilled Laborer in the Bridge Department. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that Nick Muncie be hired as a Painterts Helper. e Motion carried.
