LOWSTUTER, COMMISSIONERS Motion du3,y made and seconded that Paul Raipe, Jr., be hired as a Semi -Skilled Laborer in the Bridge Department, effective February 21, 1949. Motion carried. The Board of Commissioners acting as the Registration Commission of Washington County met and took the following action with Messrs. Pettit and Lane present: Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the Registration Office be , opened on February 23rd from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. for the purpose of taking registrations, change of parties, and changes of addresses. Motion carried. Motion dui made and seconded that the following named employees, Dominick DiRoeco, Pete Celani, Harry Gordon, Gust Canteniry and Matthew Gasparovic, be given leave of absences without pay for various periods when their services are not required by the County or Institution District; their immediate superior to certify to their absenteeism. The periods certified to this date and for which leave of absences have been granted are: DOMINICK DiROCCO PETE CELANI Off Aug. 16 to 31-1948 Off Aug. 16 to 30-1948 Sept. 16 to Nov. 28-1948 Sept. 16 to 20-1948 Oct. 8 and 11-1948 HARRY GORDON Off Oct. 8 and 11-1948 GUST CANTENIRY Off March 16 to 31-1948 MATTHEW GASPAROVIC Jan. 19 and 21-1949 G Off Jan. 18, 24 and 25-1949 Motion carried. Pettit, Lane and Lowstuter and 9 County Controller Stuart met at 11 a.m. for the purpose of opening bids to purchase a Dodge Two -door Sedan as advertised. Controller Stuart announced that there were no bids received. The Board of Commissioners continued their meeting as a regular session.. Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that the proposed budget for Washington County General Fund for the year 1949 be made available for public inspection in the Office of the Chief Clerk to the County Commissioners until Friday, March 18, 1949, on which date the said budget will be finally adopted and the rate of taxation fixed for the year 1949, and that the following public notice be given in the Washington Observer: N 0 T I C E In compliance with the provisions of the Acts of Assembly covering such matters, the proposed budgets for the financial affairs for Wash- ington County General Fund and the Washington County Institution District
