Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs.
Pettit and Lowstuter.
Motion by Mr. Lowstuter, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the County Controller be
authorized to advertise for the cost of repairs, replacements and the rehabilitation of the
D onora-Webster Bridge; said bids to be accepted as per specifications and to be opened on May
3-1,9 1949, at the Court House, Washington, Pa., at 1:00 p.m., EST, or 2s00 p.m., EDST, on the
same day in a joint meeting with the Board of Commissioners of Washington and Westmoreland
Counties.
Motion carried.
Notion duly made and seconded that the following Resolution be adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Commissioners of Washington County that
the plans submitted by the Pennsylvania Department of Highways for the
changing of State Highway Route 62180, Section S-3, from Station 149 plus
21 to Station 323 plus 58, and from Station 424 plus 00 to Station 447 plus
63; also Section S-4 from Station 323 plus 35.58 to Station 352 plus 00,
in Smith Township, midway Borough and Mt. Pleasant Township, Washington
County, have been examined and the County Commissioners agree that Washing-
ton County will not assume liability for any property damages resulting
from the construction of the above highway as contemplated by these plans,
or any damages arising out of any changes or alteration of drainage resulting
from the construction or maintenance of the highway, or any damages resulting
to any property or holdings of any Public Utility Company; nor. win- the
County assume any damages resulting to any Coal or other minerals in and
underlying the property affected by this improvement; but that Washington
County will contribute the sum of Five Thousand ($5000.00) Dollars toward
the payment of property damages; it being understood that no claim for the
payment of this money shall be made until the first quarter of 1950.
Notion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the
meeting adjourned.

The following action was taken with the Board of Commissioners sitting as the
Registration Commission.
Notion du],y made and seconded that the Registration Office be opened Monday
Evening, May 9, 1949, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. to accept registrations and to perform all other
duties in connection with the Office.
