Board of Counter Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs.
Pettit and Lane.
Lotion duly made and seconded that D. M. Anderson, Jr., be refunded $17.49 on
his 1948 County Tax paid June 28, 1948s, (on Real Estate only) on property described as 10 room
house, and 4 room house, 15 acres of surface, adjacent Roger Sichi, Nottingham Township; said
tax being a duplicate payment of $18.97 of 1948 County Tax paid on same property (including
Real Estate and Occupation) paid July 1, 1948. The Tax Claim Bureau is authorised to prepare
said voucher for the refund of this duplicate payment.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the Washington County Tax Claim Bureau and
the County Treasurer be authorized to accept delinquent taxes without penalty and interest for
the years 1945-46-47-48 against property in Hopewell Township owned by the Castle Shannon Coal
Corporation but erroneously assessed to the Youghiogheny & Pittsburgh Coal Company for the said
years, such action to abate the penalty and interest being taken in,cooperation with the Town-
ship Supervisors and School District of Hopewell Township, the respective authorities having
submitted their Resolutions approving the abatement of the said penalties and.interest.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that a refund voucher in the amount of $7.13 be
made payable to Mary Louise Brady, 227 East Wheeling Street, Washington, Pa., said refund to
cover the Personal Property Tax paid by Mary Louise Brady, August 2, 1948, on 50 shares of
Doehler-Jarvis for the year 1948, said shares having been later declared exempt for that year
by the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that a refund voucher in the amount of $3.1.54 be
made payable to Edward A. Stathas, 630 Duncan Avenue, Washington, Pa., said refund to cover the
Personal Property Tax paid by Edward A. Stathas, July 16, 1948, on 900 shares of United States
Sugar Corporation for the year 1948, having paid on 1000 shares, whereas, only 100 shares were
actually owned.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the
