Motion duly made and seconded that the Tax Claim Bureau and the County Treasurer
be authorized to abate the interest on 1927 and 1928 County Tax amounting to $25.03 on the
property of M. B. Armstrong, 62 nest Beau Street, Washington, Pa., whose property is assessed
in East Bethlehem Township and described as One (1) Frame House. This action was taken in
conjunction with similar action taken by the East Bethlehem Township School District and the
East Bethlehem Township Commissioners.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the Tax Claim Bureau and the County Treasurer
be authorized to abate the interest on 1925 County Tax amounting to $8.78 on the property of
Peter Ranolla Estate, c/o Mary Ranolla, 135 Murdock Street, Canonsburg, Pa., whose property
is assessed in the Borough of Canonsburg, 2nd Ward, and described as House and Lot. This ac
was taken being that the tax in question was filed February, 1929, with the last Suggestion
and Averment, May 1, 1939, which makes the lien void.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the Resolutions pertaining to private sale of
property for unpaid County, School and Road Taxes, be adopted. (See Resolution Numbers 4, 5,
6, 79 81 9 and 10, of the Tax Claim Bureau Minutes.)
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the
meeting adjourned.

A special joint meeting of the Westmoreland and Washington County Commissioners
was held at 2t00 p.m., EDST, in the Office of the County Commissioners at the Court House,
Washington, Pa., on May 11, 1949, for the propose of opening bids on the Donora-Webster Bridge.
The following were present at the meeting: Commissioners Francis E. Pettit,
Deputy County Controller Gilbert Dentel, Chief Engineer H. B. Crumrine and Solicitor David H.
Weiner, all of Washington County; Commissioner J. Calvin TOrner, Solicitor Vincent Williams
and Chief Engineer Hebrank, all of Westmoreland County, our Consulting Engineer Carl J. Jacobs
and the following Representatives from the Companies submitting bids: L. A. Idle, Pittsburgh -
Des Moines Steel Company; Dean Freeman, Ferguson & Edmondson Company; and H. C. Forbes, Eichle
Corporation, all of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
After a reading of the official advertisement from the Washington and Westmore-

We certify that we have examined and studied the plans, specifications and
stipulations of the contract and we are familiar with the site of the proposed work and fully
understand and appreciate the extent and character of the work to be dohs under the contract.
Having made this examination and study and having made a careful estimate of the
cost of the work, we hereby offer and propose, at our own cost and expense, to furnish all
materials, except as hereinafter noted in the specifications, labor, superintendence, equipment;
tools, transportation, all means of construction, insurance, pap all fees and incidental
expenses and execute, construct and furnish in an expeditious, workmanlike and substantial
