BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
FRANGIS E. PETTIT, W. J. LANE, HENRY J. LOWSTUTER, COMMISSIONERS
Board for the assessment and Revision of Taxes Commission.
Notion duly made and seconded that Audrey Jean Lane be hired as a Clerk is the
Office of the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes, effective dune 1, 1949, and
covering the period from that date to the first Monday in January, 1950.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the
meeting adjourned.

The Commissioners of Washington County, with Mrssrs. Pettit, Lane and Lowstuter
present not in the Commissioners? Office at ls30 P.M.
Presented for discussion was the regular monthly statement rendered for care
of prisoners at Morgansa, which rate jumped from $1.035 per day per inmate in 1939 to $3.6654
per day per inmate in 1949. After a thorough discussion of the matter, the Solicitor was
instructed to draw up a letter of protest, to the proper authorities protesting the payment of
said bill.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to came before the Board at this time, the
meeting adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session with the following Resolution
"The following Resolution of the Board of County Comissioners of the County of
Washington, State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issue by the said County of a note for One
Hundred Thousand ($100,000.00) Dollars as a temporary loan, was presented, duly seconded and
adopted by said Board, to -wits"
WHEREAS, It has become necessary for said Board to borrow the sum of One Hundred
Thousand ($100,000.00) Dollars for the purpose of meeting current expenses for the year 1949,
and to be payable out of taxes and other current revenues which have been assessed and are to
be levied and collected by the County during the year 1949; r therefore,
