BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA

July 1, 19499 and covering the period from that date to the first Monday in January, 1950.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorised to advertise
for an IBM Electric Executive Typewriter for use in the Orphans' Court.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that iron doors and iron bars be placed on the back
widows and door of the County Jail, that all locks be put in proper condition, and that the
refrigeration unit also be put in proper condition and amy other repairs necessary for the
proper imprisonment of prisoners.
Motion carried.
The following action was taken with the Board of County Commissioners sitting as the
Registration Commission.
Motion duly made and seconded that additional Registration Dates be set for the
Borough of Canonsburg and the Borough of Donora, which is to be held on Friday, July 1, 1949.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the Registration Office in the Court House be
opened Thursday Evening, June 30th, 1949, from 6 p.m., to 9 p.m., EST, (7 p.m. to 10 p.m., DST)
to carry on the regular duties of the Office.
Motion carried, with the Registration Commission discontinued and the regular order
of business being conducted by the Board.
Motion duly made and seconded that Dolores Shultz be appointed as a Clerk in the
Registration Office for the year 1949, effective July 1, 1949, and covering the period from
that date to the first Monday in January, 1950.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting
adjourned.

Present at the meeting were Commissioners Pettit and Lowstuter and Deputy County
Controller Gilbert J. Dental representing the County Controller.* Harvey Stuart. The County
Commissioners met in special session at 11:00 a.m., EDST, in the Office of the County Comics:
for the purpose of opening bids for a used 1947 or 1948 Buick Station Wagon as advertised for
use in Washington County and the Washington County Institution District.
In accordance with the aforementioned advertisement, the following bid was opened:
