Due to the absence of Commissioners Pettit and Lane, it was agreed by Commis
Lowrstuter and Controller Stuart that the bids be tabulated and awarding of the contract to be
deferred till a later date.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meet-
ing adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs.
Pettit and Lane.
Motion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Eugene L. Miller be appointed
as Assistant Director in the Tax Claim Bureau, retroactive to October 1, 1949, and covering
the period from that date to the first Monday in January, 1950.
Motion carried, and Controller Stuart was called into the meeting.
Motion duly made and seconded that the contract for furnishing materials and
services to the Tau Department of our County, be awarded to the Monongahela Publishing Company,
Monongahela, Pa., for the amount of $2637.25; it being the only eligible bid received.

Motion duly made and seconded that Nelson M. and Martha M. Drylie, Box #471,
Rest Brownsville, Pa., be refunded $9.93 on 1949 County and Occupational Tax paid on August 1,
1949, on property described as 5 Room Frame House, Lot 100, Adjacent J. E. Brenton, situated
in West Brownsville Borough; said tax being a duplicate payment, paid on the same date. The
Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said voucher for the refund of this duplicate payment
