Manifold School, Rental being reduced from $10.00 to None; petitions for said change having
been duly presented to the Board prior to ten days before the Election'and notices of the con-
templated change posted as required by law:
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the following persons be named as Assistants
to the Official Return Board to compute the votes cast at the General Election, which is to
be held Tuesday, November 8, 1949:

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs.
Pettit, Lane and Lowstuter.
The following action was taken with the Board of Commissioners sitting as the
County Board of Elections.
Motion duly made and seconded that the Nash Garage, 209 West Pike Street,
Canonsburg, Pa., be paid an additional $10,00 for rental of garage for Polling Place for Elect-
ion held November 8, 1949, in Canonsburg, Second Ward, First Precinct; and that the rental for
said polling place be fixed at $25.00, effective this date.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that John J. Wisniewski of Avella, Pa., R. D. #2,
be paid an additional $5.00 for rental of room for Polling Place for Election held November 8,
1949, in Jefferson Township, Third Precinct; and that the rental for said polling place be'
fixed at $10.00, effective this date.
Motion carried.
Sitting as the regular Board of Commissioners at this time, the following matter
was taken up by the Board.
Correspondence from the Hamburg Brothers, 305 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh 22,
vania, relative to installing a Sound System in Judge Carsonts Courtroom was read, and no
action was taken.
Request of David M. Gillie, Mayor of Monongahela, Pa., for resolution assuming
damages on proposed relocation and reconstruction of Route #88, Legislative Route #247, Wash-
ington County, was tabled for the time being until further information as to probable amount of

damages to be assumed by Washington County is established by the State Highway Department.

)Motion duly made and seconded that a refund voucher in the amount of

$1.66 be made payable to Myer and Irene Weiss of 324-5th Street, Donora, Pa., on property
j' !described as 2 lots #16 and #17, situated in Fisher Heights of Carroll Township. An amount of
1$7.60 was paid on August 25, 1949, on said property which was then assessed at $800.00; due to
+a tax adjustment #1953, the valuation was reduced to $625.00 and the County Tax to $5.94, which
iaccounts for the refund. The Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said voucher for this
s
refund.

s Motion duly made and seconded that a refund voucher in ,the amount of
412.64 be made payable to Harry and Cecelia Me Collum, 777 Orchard Street, California, Pa., on
property described as 2 lots #74 and #75, 5 Room Frame House, Normal View Extension, situated
lin East Pike Run Township; said tax being a duplicate payment of $12.64 paid by the First
!Federal Savings & Loan Association of Waynesburg, Pa., on August 1, 1949. The Tax Claim Bureau I
!is authorized to prepare said voucher for the refund of this duplicate payment.

Motion duly made and seconded that a refund voucher in the amount of

j$29.79 be made payable to Marguerite Springer, 321 College Avenue, California, Pa., on property I
described as N. R. House and Tile Garages, Lot, 8 College Avenue, situated in California
Borough; said tax being a duplicate payment of $29.79 paid by J. W. Edwards and Company, Cali-
fornia, Pa., on the same date, August 1, 1949. The Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare

said voucher for the refund of this duplicate payment. i

Motion duly made and seconded that a refund voucher in the amount of
$12.35 be made payable to Colgan and Binns, 537 McKean Avenue, Donora, Pa., on property assessed
in the name of Phillip DiPietro, 1.1.7 Allen Avenue, Donora, Pa., described as 1 Frame House,
Frt. Ft. Lot 4-40 x 75, Blk, 28, SIB. 69-530, situated in the Borough of Donora; said tax being
a duplicate payment of $11.74 (net) paid by Phillip DiPietro, Donora, Pa., on August 1, 1949,
and it being duplicated by Colgan and Binns on August 25, 1949. The Tax Claim Bureau is author-
ized to prepare said voucher for the refund of this duplicate payment.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time,
the meeting adjourned.
