Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs.
Pettit, Lane and Lowstuter.
Minute Nos. 168, 169, 1709 171, 172, 173, 174, 1759 176, 177, 178, 179, 1801 181,
182, 183 and 1$4 were read and approved.
The following motion was adopted with the Board of Commissioners sitting as the
Registration Commissions
Motion duly made and seconded that March 22, 19509 be approved as a Field Regis-
tration Day in Canonsburg; and that March 23, 1950, be approved as a Field Registration Day in
Daisytown, Rest Pike Run Township.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the temporary partition in the Chambers of
Judge of the Orphans' Court be removed, and the installation of suitable cloakroom and toilet
facilities be made.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the Budget for the General Fund for the
of Washington for the fiscal year 1950 be finally adopted as advised by the County'Commissioner
the said budget having been available for public inspection in the Office of the Chief Clerk to
the County Commissioners from February 20, 1950, to this date, in accordance with the provision
of the Act of Assembly of July 18, 1935, and the rate of taxation upon the valuation of proper-
ties of the County of Washington, in order to tax sufficient revenue to meet required expendi-
tures for the fiscal year 1950, be fixed at seven (7) mills, which makes the payment of taxes i
the amount of seventy (70) cents lipon each $100 of assessed valuation of real estate and occupa-
tion.

Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer is hereby directed to
cancel the Treasurer's Tax Sale of April 3, 19". for the 1938 School and City Taxes for proper
assessed to Hugh J. and Marie McLinden, described as Vacant Lot No. 360-Monongahela Larks Ccmpaa
705 East Main Street, Monongahela 1st Ward, Washington County, Pennsylvania, inasmuch as, the
assessment of Lot No. 360, Monongahela Land Company is and was an incorrect assessment to Hugh
J. and Marie McLinden, who do not own Lot No. 360 but at the time did own Lot No. 359 Monongahl
Land Company. The Tax Claim Bureau, the Assessment Office and the'Office of the Prothonotary
are hereby directed to mark their records accordingly.

Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer is hereby directed to
cancel the Tax Sale of March 24, 1942, for the non-payment of the 1935 County Taxes plus sale
costs, covering three lots Nos. 35, 362 37 Dawson Plan, situate in Fallowfield Township,.

two-story frame house and eight lots, Nos. 35, 36, 37, 3% 439 449 45 Dawson Plan. Said tax
being paid by Act 83, Receipt No. 927 and paid under date of dune 5, 1937, in the amount of
$9.59. The Prothonotary, the Tax Assessment Office and the Tax Claim Bureau are hereby directed

cancel the Treasurer's Sale of May 7, 1947, for the non-payment of the 1941 Road Tax plus sale

Receipt No. 60, dated March 13, 1942, in the amount (Face-$1.25 plus $.06 penalty) $1.31. The
!Tax Claim Bureau is hereby directed to give a deed to the present owner, Anthony Deblander and
Lillian Deblander, so that their title be cleared as the Treasurer's Sale was in error. The
!Assessment Office, the Office of the Prothonotary, and the Tax Claim Bureau are hereby directed
to mark their records accordingly. The deed issued by the County Treasurer on the above is
dated April 7, 1947.

!cancel the Treasurer's Tax Sale of March 24, 1942, for the non-payment of the 1935 and 1936
!County, School and Road taxes plus sale cost cowering the property assessed to Fort Pitt Coal
and Coke Company and described as blacksmith shop, power house, tipple and power plant, situate
in Nottingham Township, inasmuch as, these buildings have been removed and are no longer in
existence. The Tax Claim Bureau, the Assessment Office and the Office of the Prothonotary are
;hereby directed to mark their records accordingly.

been made to the County Treasurer under Act 17 in the amount of $3.39 under date of July 29,
1941, and a payment of $2.34 was imde to the County Commissioners' Clerk and marked accordingly

Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer is hereby directed to
cancel the County Treasurer's Tag Sale of April 7, 1947, for the non-payment of 191+1 County
Tax, assessed to Frank Kolavick, on property described as Lot No. 280, West Side Land Company in
East Pike Run Township. This sale was based on a supposed delinquency that was in error, be-
cause Lot No. 280 was improperly assessed to Frank Kolavick for 1941 since it was then owned by
Washington County, said lot having been sold to the County in January and April 1940. The
Office of the Prothonotary, the Tax Assessment Office and the Tax Claim Bureau, are also hereby
directed to mark their records accordingly.

Motion duly made and seconded that a Refund Voucher in the amount of $202.19 be
made payable to Thomas Anderson, Solicitdr for the School District of North Franklin Township.
This being a refund made from County Commissioners Sale No. 918, dated April 8, 1946, property
formerly owned by Edward Slater and sold to Barron P. McCune, for the sale price of $5107.40,
due to an error which had been made in the amount distributed to the School District in the
distribution of moneys received. Said amount to be taken from the fifteen per cent allotted to
the Real Estate Department as costs.

Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer is hereby directed to
cancel the following tax sales, inasmuch as, these lots had been sold by Sheriff's Sale, the
Plaintiff being Francis R. Dooley to Harry E. Pollock at alias Fi-Fa No. 55 May Term, 1930, E.D.
The said taxes were divested by said Sheriff's Sale up to and including the year 1930.
