Joint meeting of the County Commissioners and the County Controller called for
the purpose of opening bids in accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller for
the printing and delivering of the necessary ballots for the conduct of the General Election on
Tuesday, November 7, 1950, and also for furnishing and delivering the necessary election sup-
plies for use at the said General Election. Present for the County Commissioners were Francis
Roule
E. Pettit, W. J. Lane and Henry J. Lowstuter. County Controllerjwas also present.
In accordance with the aforementioned advertisement, the following bids were
opened:

In accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller, inviting proposal€
for printing and delivering to the Office of the County Commissioners the necessary ballots for
the conduct of the General Election to be held Tuesday, November 7, 1950, having wmmined the
attached specifications and understanding the same, I (or We) propose to furnish said ballots
in accordance therewith at the prices set forthr.
Approximately 110,000 regular white official ballots:

Approximately 22,000 pink official specimen ballots for election districts:

for the furnishing and delivering to the Office of the County Commissioners supplies to include

Motion by Commissioner Lane, seconded by Com issioner Lowstuter, that the con-
tract for the printing, furnishing and delivering the necessary ballots for the conduct of the
General Election to be held Tuesday, November 7, 1950, be awarded to the Monongahela Publishing
CcmpazW and the Ward Printing Company on their joint bid.
Motion carried.
Motion by Commissioner Lane, seconded by Commissioner Lowstuter, that the con-
tract for the furnishing and delivering the necessary election supplies for the conduct of the
General Election to be held Tuesday, November 7, 1950, be awarded to the William G. Jobnston
Cowl3aiW, Box #6759, N. S,, Pittsburgh, Pa., for the sum of 1323.15.
Motion carried.
Motion by Comeissioners Lowstuter, seconded by Commissioner Lane' that the bid
of T. M. Bedinion, R. D. #4, Washington, Pa., in the amount of $425.00 for delivering Election
Supplies to all Judges of Election throughout the County for the General Election to be held
on Tuesday, November 7, 1950, be accepted.
Motion carried.
After the opening of the bids and awarding of the contracts for the furnishing
and delivering of ballots and election supplies for the General Election of 1950, the meeting
was continued for the purpose of opening bids and awarding the contract for the furnishing and
delivering of coal to the Boiler Howse at the County Jail; the following bids were opened:

In accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller, inviting propo
for furnishing coal to heat the Court House and County Jail at Washington, Pennsylvania., and
