LOWSTUTER, COMMISSIONERS Notion by Mr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that the contract for the furnish. ing and delivering to the Fair Grounds at Arden, Pa., appromimately 27,000 board feet of Rough Sawed White Oak Lumber to be used for the repair and maintenance of various County Bridges, be awarded to Steve Pochiba, R. D. #1, Eighty-Foer,.Pa., for the sum; of $80.00 per thousand feet and the total amount of the bid being $21.99.20;• this bid being the lowest and best bid received for the best interests of Washington County. Notion carried., Motion by HP. Lane, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that the contract for the furnish- ing of Structural. Steel, Open Plate Flooring, and Bridge Railing to be used in the construction of the YcConnells gill Bridge, Chartiers Creek #41 in Chartiers Township be awarded to the Fort Pitt Bridge Works, Canonsburg, Pa., for the total amount of $3356.D; this being the only bid received. Motion carried. Motion by Hr. Lane, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that the contract for the Furnish ing of Sixty (60) Tons, more or less, of Plain Structural Steel for uric ca various Bridges of Washington County, be awarded to the Foot Pitt Bridge Works of Canesburg, Pa., fw the total amount of $6338.53; this bid being the only bid received: the unit prices of various materials needed being subject to higher prices as of September 26, 1950. Should aar cbaW occur in these prices or rates before dates of shipment of steel from the mails, our quoted prices are t be adjusted in like amount. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that a refund voucher in the amount of $6.55 be made payable to Tony T. and Hi.lma Delaney of Cdkeburg, Pa., on property described as k Room House & Garage, Lot 66 Blk B, 19 Lincoln. Street, and situate in the Borough of Cokeburg; said. payment (paid on August 1, 1950, at net) being a duplicate payment of me paid on JUly 29, 1950 in the amount of $6.55 (net). The Tax Claim Bureau is authorised to prepare said voucher for the refund of this duplicate payment. Motion carried. Motiak d:a ty made and seceded that a refund voucher in the amount of $5.70 (paid at face on August 7, 1950) be made payable to Marshall H. and Margaret Becdnner, 1129 Maple Terrace, Washington' Pa., an property described as Unfinished Howse, Lot No. 11, Van Kirk Plan, 59 State Road and situate in the Township of South Franklin; said payment being a duplicate pay- ment of one paid on Jbne 27, 1950, in the amount of $5„42 (net). The Tax Claim Bureau is authcw- ized to prepare said voucher for the refund of this duplicate payment. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that a refund voucher in the amount of $17.10 be made payable to the First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Waynesburg, Pa., on property _ assessed in the name of Robert E. and Lee Wiggins, Bentleyville, Pa., on property described as 2 Story Frame House, Lot #360 4 W. F. Richardson - 1yers Plan and situate in the Borough of Bentleyville; said payment being a duplicate payment (paid on property and occupation tax an August 3, 1950, in the amount of $17.10) of one paid on August 1, 19500 in the amount of$26.25 (set). Washington Avenue; Bridgeville, Pa,, who paid on July 27, 1950, $9.03 for their 1950 tax statement. This statement was adjusted and the occupation taken off, due to the fact that they are not residents of Chartiers Township in whici their property is situate, necessitating a difference in tax in the amount of $1.81. Therefore the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said voucher for the refund of this overpayment. Motion carried. i Motion duly made and seconded that a refund voucher in the amount of $2.70 be I 1 made payable to Mike and Helen Belback, A45 Third Street, Monongahela, Pa., on property des- � cribed as House.. Garage and Bungalow, Lot #8, 43 445-"* Third Street, and situate in the Second Ward of the City of Monongahela. This refund was caused by a change in the tau adjust- ;ment reducing the valuation Frcmu $2610 to $2110; Mr. Belback having paid $23.56 (paid on ; occupation and property tax) before this adjustment oceured. Therefore, the Tax Claim Bureau I i is authorized to prepare said voucher for the refund of this overpayment. Motion carried. Motion ft3y made and seconded that a refund voucher in the amount of $1.81 be made payable to Homer Whiteman, R. D. #2, Clayerille, Pa., on property described as 1 314 acres! Surface, Adj Applegate and situate in the Township of Donegal. On June 24, 1950, Mr. Whiteman i 3 j paid $1.81 which was a duplication of assessment on 1.8W acres, having been charged with 1 311 ;acres which created this duplication in assessment. Therefcre, the Tax Claim Bureau is author- ized to prepare said voucher for the refund of this duplicate payment. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that a refund voucher in the amount of $5.41 be made payable to August and Pauline Lang, 783 McKean Street, Donora, Pa., on`property described as Irreg Plot, 2 Lots 70 x 247, 2 Lots 50 x 247, 13 Langwood Plan, and situate in the Township! of Carroll. This refund is caused by a change in the tau adjustment reducing the valuation 1 , from $1650 to $1050; Mr. Lang having paid $14..90 (property tax) on July 10, 1950, before thi.u$ � adjustment occured. Therefore, the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare said voucher for the refund of this overpayment. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that a refund voucher in the amount of $7.88 be made payable to Mrs. Vera Knox Stine, Taylorstown, Pa., on property assessed in the names of Knox, Post and Pethtel, described as 131 Acres Coal, 113 interest, adj Albert Sickles and situ.-1 I ate in the Township of Blaine. Due to the fact that Mrs. Stine paid on August l; 1950, $11.83 I which represented the total amount of valuation on 231 acres of coin., while in reality her sham was 313 interest, amounting to $3.95; therefore the Tax Claim Bureau is authorized to prepare I said voucher for the refund of this overpayment.
