Washington County Prison Board
Washington, PA, June 17, 2009
The Washington County Prison Board Meeting was held in Washington County Correctional Facility, Cherry
Way, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Bracken Burns and Diana
Irey; Deputy Controller Randy Vankirk; District Attorney Steve Toprani and Chief Deputy Sheriff Jim Dalessandro.
Absent being: Commissioner Larry Maggi. Also being present: Warden Joe Pelzer; Lynn DeHaven, Solicitor; Scott
Fergus, Director of Administration; Linda Belcher, Administrative Assistant; Mary Helicke, Chief Clerk; Joy Sprowls,
Commissioner's Office; Chuck Nicholls, Director of Human Resources; Barbara Miller, Observer -Reporter, and Jim
Jefferson, WJPA.
Vice Chairman Burns called the meeting to order at approximately 2:35 p.m. and entertained a motion to
approve Minute No. 5-P-09.
Moved by Ms. Irey, seconded by Mr. Toprani, approving Minute No. 5-P-09 as written. Motion carried
unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye".
WARDEN'S REPORT
Warden Pelzer presented the following information to the Board:
Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for Mav 2009
Administration Fee $3,480.87
Social Security 2,800.00
Monthly Sub Total 6.280.87
Year to date GRAND TOTAL $20,210.81
