A A11103=414D,A NO. 156 Office Of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., July 11, 1961 Board of County Commissioners in special session, those present being: Commissioners Pettit, Cummins and Mazza and Controller Elish. Motion by Mr. Mazza, seconded by Mr. C , that due to the delay in mailing of the 1961 tax statements caused by the re -assessment of all real estate in Washington County, the Board of County Commissioners and the County Controller approve and adapt the following resolu- tion to extend the discount period to those taxpayers who will be receiving their tau statements late,. RESOLUTION As the work of establishing and adopting the permanent record system for tax assessments of approximately 90,000 parcels of Real Estate in Washington County it makes it impossible to send statements for 1961 County Tau to all the taxpayers in time for them to take advantage of the discount and the payable at face periods specified on the enclosed tans notice -as provided by the Venango Act. Therefore to those ®nly, who receive their cards late and comparab: to our mailing list, you are hereby notified that the enclosed tax statement is subject to a 5% Discount if paid on or before August 31, 1961; payable at Face during September, 1961, and a 1.0% Penalty will be added on October 1, 1961. As stated above this extension has been approved by the Board of County ers and the County Controller. If payment is made by mail, the law requires that you enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of your receipt. Those present at this meeting beings Comissioners Pettit, Cummins, Massa, Solicitor Docktor and Bookkeeper Murdoch of the County Controllers Office. Action on awarding contract postponed until Wednesday, July 19, 1961, at 1:30 P.M. Motion carried unanimously with Mr. Docktor and Mr, Murdoch leaving the meeting, The Board of County Commissioners at this time went into a regular business Motion by Mr, Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the resignation as submitted Margaret Ann Gales, Clerk in the Tax Claim Bureau, be accepted effective the 1st day of August, 1961. This resignation will include her two week vacation period. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the resignation as submitted by Vincent Pasqualucci, employee of the Washington County Garage, be accepted effective the 16th day of July, 1961. adjourned. NO. 158 Motion carried unanimously. There being n© further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., July 13, 1961 Board of County Commissioners met in special session, those present being: Commissioners Pettit, Cummins and Mazza. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Dolores L. Rozzi be appointed as a temporary clerk in the T#x assessment Office for a one month period; this action to be effective July 5, 1961. Motion carried unanimously, Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that Frances J. Packrall be as a secretary to the Washington County Planning Commission; this action to be effective July 6, 1961. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Mr, Mazza, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that in,connection with the Donora- Webster Bridge and in accordance with the action and approval of the Commissioners of Westmore- land County, Ferguson and Edmondson Company is hereby authorized to substitute the use of Layko for ID-2 for the bridge floor wearing surface and sidewalk surface on the Donora-Webster Bridge at an additional cost of $4,000.00, one-half of which is to be paid by Westmoreland County.
