BL.ATCH CUMMINS, JOHN MAZZA, COMMISSIONERS No. 159 ( office of the County Commissioners i Washington, Pa., July 17, 1961 i s Board of County Commissioners not in regular session, those present being. - Commissioners Pettit, Cumains and Mazza. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mrs Mazza, that the following resolution be adopted: i RESOLUTION ViEREAS, the County of Washington, Pennsylvania, is desirous of meeting the -regu- lations of the Water and Power Resources Board of the Com►ommalth of Pennsylvania, Department of Forests and Waters, to enable said Board to create a Flood Control District, Now, THERE M.. the County of Washington hereby assures the said Water and Power Resources Board that it will: 1. Enter into an Agreement satisfactor7 to the Water and Power Re- sources Board assuming 50% of the non -Federal costs of the Fed- eral Flood Project on Chartiers Creek. 2. That the County of Washington will maintain and operate the Flood Control works after completion in accordance with the regulations prescribed by the Federal.Goverment. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned. Those present being: Commissioners Pettit j and Cummins. Motion by Mr. Cummins, s+�conddd y Mr. Pettit, that the bid received on July 12, i j 1961, be rejected and that the County Controller be authorized to readverkiss for bids for the I construction of the Wallace Lane Bridge in accordance with the changes required by the Armor Corps jof Engineers. THE FOREGOING MINUTE READ AND APPROVED: N0. 160-A Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., July 19, 1961 Board of County Commissioners not in regular session those present being: Commissioners Pettit, Cummins and Mazza. - adopted: Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Mazza, that the following resolution RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the County of Washington, Pennsylvania, has outstanding, inter alis, an unfunded debt in the sum of Three Hundred Eighty-three Thousand Dollars ($383,000.00)'con- tracted for current operating expenses, which is due and owing and it is the opinion of the Board of County Commissioners that the County cannot meet such debt within the fiscal year with- out an unreasonable curtailment of municipal services or the levy of an excessive tax; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Caaunty Commissioners, by petition, apply to the Court of Quarter Sessions of the County of Washington, ComwMnalU of Pennsylvani praying that said Court make•an order granting authority to fund the said debt of Three Hundred Eighty-three Thousand Dollars ($383,000.00) contracted.for current operating expenses by an iss of general obligation bonds of the County. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper officers are hereby authorized, es. powered and directed to execute and present to said Court such petition, affidavits and and to take such further action as may be necessary to accomplish the purpose of this Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned.
