Washington County Prison Board
Washington, PA, February 17, 2010
The Washington County Prison Board was held in the 7t6 Floor Conference Room, Courthouse Square,
Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi and Diana L. Irey,
Controller Michael Namie; Sheriff Sam Romano; and Steve Toprani, District Attorney. Absent being: Commissioner
Bracken Burns who was out of town. Also being present: Warden Joe Pelzer; Scott Fergus, Director of
Administration; Lynn DeHaven, Solicitor; Mary Helicke, Chief Clerk; Linda Belcher, Administrative Assistant; Chuck
Nicholls, Director of Human Resources; Sue Orrick, Commissioners Office; Barbara Miller, Observer -Reporter, and
Jim Jefferson, WJPA.
Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Chairman Maggi asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 1-P-10, dated
January 20, 2010.
Moved by Ms. Irey, seconded by Mr. Namie, that Minute No. 1-P-10 be approved as written. Motion carried
unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye".

WARDEN'S REPORT
Warden Pelzer presented the following information to the Board:
Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for January 2010:
Social Security $ 1,200.00
Administrative Fee 2,925.66
Monthly Sub Total 4,125.66

Moved by Ms. Irey, seconded by Mr. Toprani, to accept the Warden's Report as per above. Motion
carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by staling "Aye".

Controller Namie presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the
month of January 2010 in the amount of $69,861.69.
Moved by Mr. Namie, seconded by Ms. Irey, approving the bills for the month of January 2010. Motion carried
unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and made a part
hereof.)
OLD BUSINESS

NEW BUSINESS
At this time, Solicitor DeHaven requested an executive session to discuss litigation regarding medical bills.
The meeting reconvened.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting adjourned at Noon.
