Motion duly made and seconded that refund be made to Eva B. lickerhw4 c/o Mrs. D. C.
Parkinson, Stahlman Apartments, Monongahela, Pa., in the amount of 5.21, covering Personal Property

Tax for the years 1944 and 1945 on 5 Shares Midland Steel Prod. Co., 10 shares having been returned �
whereas only 5 were actually owned, but inadvertently included in her return for the said years and
tax paid on same to the County.

ti Motion duly made and seconded that refund in the amount of $1.09 be made to Mike and j
Elizabeth Horvath, East Pike Run Township.. covering 1943, 1944 and 1945 County Taxes on Lot No. 284,
t%stside Land Company Plan, by reason of the Courts adjudication that the Commissionerst Tax Sale
of said lot was void.

Deputy Controller Dental called into the meet pure opening
epu y meeting for the purpose of _o bids in
accordance with advertisement of the County Controller_for the_ furnishing_ of Two (2) 1946 Plymouth
Sedans, and reported that no bids had been received.
Motion duly made and seconded that the following Resolution be adopted: i
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Washington County taken.. cognizance gnizance of recent
i action of the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, with regard to smoke removal
from the City of Pittsburgh; and
WHOMO.. the Board of Commissioners of Washington County deems this action very commendable,
but in connection therewith feels that should the proposed date of October lst, 1946, be decided f
i upon as the deadline for the changeover great harm may result to one of Washington County's most
important industries, namely the mining of coal, with the likelihood_of.displacing a great number
of the I.4j,000 miners now employed; now., therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Commissioners of Washington County request the Council of the City
1 of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, to consider postponement of the date that the
changeover is made compulsory until October 1st: 1947.
