Mr. Pettit and Mr. Lowstuter,
Minute No. 173 read and approved.
Controller Harvey Stuart called into the meeting for the purpose of opening bids received
f
in accordance with advertising of the County Controller inviting proposals for furnishing supplies
a
for use of the Tax assessment Office for the year 1947, and proposals for the retubing of two 72x181
HRT boilers in the heating plant at the Court House.
In accordance therewith, the following bid for retubing the boilers, being the only one f
i
received, was opened and read:

In accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller, inviting proposals for the retubing
of two 72xl8t boilers in the heating plant at the Court House, having examined the attached j
i specifications and understanding the same, I (or We) propose to perform said work in accordance i
therewith except as noted below for the sum of

THREE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED NINETY DOLLARS NO CENTS
$ 3,590.00
A certified check in the amount of $500.00 is enclosed herewith.

j PLEASE NOTE: We propose toftarnish heavier tubes (10 gauge) as 11 gauge is unavailable. I

Also., in accordance therewith, the following bid for furnishing and printing tax j
assessment supplies for 1947, being the only one received, was opened and read:

and printing supplies to be delivered to the Office of the County Commissioners, having examined

This bid is offered with the understanding that it will be completed unless it becomes
I impossible of performance due to conditions beyond our control. j

Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that action on awarding of contracts fort

I I retubing of boilers and for furnishing and printing tax assessment supplies be deferred until a
! later date, for the purpose of studying the bids.

Controller Stuart excused from the meeting at this time.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting
was adjourned.

Motion by Mr. Lowstuter, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that contract for retubing two (2)
72x181 boilers in the heating plant at the Court House be awarded to OtBrien Steel Construction
I Inc., Washington, Pa., on their bid as set forth in preceding minute No. 174, dated July 8,
j 1946.

Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that contract for furnishing Tax
I
Assessment supplies be awarded to Monongahela Publishing Company on their bidas set forth
in preceding minute No. 174, dated July 8, 1946.

There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting
