Pa., September 23, 1946 I i Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Mr. Cummins, iMr. Pettit and :fir. IA=tuter. Minute No. 190 read and approved. Motion duly made and seconded that the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes i be authorized to make refund of 1945 County Tax paid in duplicate -on property described as "4 room frame house and lots 222-223-224 Potts Plan" Smith Township. Duplication occurred when the 3 s P P property was transferred from John Hobart to Frank Hobart, tax having been paid- by both parties. 1 i Refund is to bem de to John Hobart, % Joseph Hobart, Box 365, Slovan, Pa... An the amount of $6.42, prorated as follows= General Fund 5.23, Institution $1.19. Motion carried. Controller Harvey Stuart called into the meeting for the purpose of awarding contracts I for Glass Bridge, Millers Run #1.0, Cecil Township, and Gabby Bridge t., Chartiers Creek, North Franklin Township, in accordance with bids opened September 17, 1946, as set forth in Minute No, 189. Tabulation of bids submitted by H. B. Crumrine. s ' Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that -contract for construction of Glass Bridge, Millers Run #10, Cecil Township,, be awarded to L. H. & D. Construction Company, Waynesburg,{ Pa. upon their original bid of 13 123. I , p, 41, theirs being the lowest and best bid, subject to I submitting the proper qualification forms, work not to be started until all materials are on the j site; and that contract for construction of Gabby Bridge #64, Chartiers Creek, North Franklin I Township, be awarded to Charles C. Bissett, New Freeport, Pa., upon his original bid of $11,484.96,I k his being the lowest and best bid, subject to submitting the proper qualification forms, work not tq i be started until all materials are on the site. Motion carried, with Controller Stuart present when this action eras taken and instructed to return the certified check of the unsuccessful bidders. i Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that John Curran, Chief Assessor in the Office of the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes_, Rosetta Radic and George Chipps, Clerks in said Office, be dismissed from said positions, effective at the close -of the current I pay period, to -wits September 30, 1946, I 4� Motion carried, with Mr. Cummins and Mr. Lowstuter voting "Aye", Mr. Pettit "No". I` Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that Martha Ruscitti, of Donora, t Pa., be employed as a Clerk in the Office of the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes for the year 1946, effective October 1, 1946, and covering the period from that date to the first I Monday in January, 1947; and that Mary L. Gillie be appointed as -Acting Chief Assessor in the offici of the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes for the year 1946, effective October 1, 1946, and covering the period from that date to the first Monday in January, 1947. Motion carried, with Mr. Cummins and Mr. Lowstuter voting "Aye", Mr. Pettit "NO".
