Mr. Pettit and Mr. Lowstuter.

Deputy Controller Dentel called into the meeting for the purpose -of opening bids
received in accordance with advertisement of the County Controller -for furnishing -and delivering
One 4-Door Special Deluxe 1947 Plymouth Sedan. �
In accordance therewith, the following bid, being the only one_reeeived, was opened i
and read:
OLD TRAIL MOTORS, INC., 122 E. Maiden St., Washington, Pennsylvania
In accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller for furnishing and delivering
One Door Special Deluxe 1947 Plymouth Sedan, I (or tie) propose to furnish and deliver said item i
for the sum of:

Less Federal Tax 63,00

A, certified check in the sum of $100.00 is herewith enclosed.
Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by mr. Lowstuter, that the bid of Old Trail Motors, Inc.,
N as set forth above, be accepted.
Motion carried.
Deputy Controller Dentel excused from the meeting at this time.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, it was -adjourned.

Motion duly made and seconded that the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes
be authorized to prepare voucher for refund of the sum of $7.06 in favor of James. Gatiden, R. D. A,
Fredericktown., Pa., as per tax receipt on file, representing payment of 1946 County Tax on

occupational value of $100.00 and 4 room and basement garage and 6 acres of surface adjacent
to A. W. W'ickerham Estate, assessed in the Borough of Deemston at $1,000.00, making a total
assessment of 1,100.00, said tax being a duplicate of that paid by the First Federal Savings
and Loan Association of Greene County, Waynesburg, Pa., -which holds the mortgage and therefore
assumes responsibility for the taxes on this property.

Motion duly made and seconded that the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes
be authorised to prepare voucher for refund of the sum of $8.35 in favor of Eugene New., R. D. #1,
Frederickto-wn, Pa., as per tax receipt on file, representing payment of 1946 County Tax on
occupational value of $100.00 and 2 frame houses and 82 Acres of Surface assessed at $1,200.00
in the Borough of Deemston, making a total assessment of $1,300.00, said tax being a duplicate

of that paid by the First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Greene County, Waynesburg,
Pa., -which holds the mortgage and therefore assumes responsibility for the taxes on this property.

! Lotion duly made and seconded that the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes

be authorized to prepare voucher for refund of the sum of $4.50 in favor of Isaac Stephens,
Claysville, Pa., as per tax receipt on file, representing payment of 1946 County Tax on a 6 room
house and shed and a lot at 318 Main St., Claysville, assessed in the Borough of Claysville at
$700.00, said tax being a duplicate of that paid by the First Federal Savings and Loan Associa-
tion of Greene County, Waynesburg, Pa., -which holds the mortgage and- therefore assumes respon-
sibility for the taxes on this property.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes
be authorized to prepare voucher for refund of the sum of $7.38 in favor of formal L. and
Bertha E. Jennings, R. D. #1, Frederickto vm, Pa., as per tax receipt can file, representing
payment of 1946 County Tax on occupational value of 200.00, and a 5 Room Frame: House and 11
d Acres of Surface adjacent to Mary Bigler, assessed in the Borough of_Deemston at $950000.,

making a total assessment of $1150.00, said tax being a duplicate of that paid by the First

Federal Savings and Loan Association of Greene County, Waynesburg, Pa., -which holds the
mortgage and therefore assumes responsibility for the taxes on this property.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the Board for the Assessment and Revision of
Taxes be authorized to prepare voucher for refund of the sum of $4,18 in favor of Rachel Ankrom,
R. D. #1, Cl.aysville, Pa., as per tax receipt on file, representing payment of--1946 County Tax
on occupational value of $100.00 and house and 10 acres of surface adjacent to Reed-Filler-Polem,
assessed in Buffalo Township at 550.00, making a total assessment of 650.00, said tax being
a duplicate of that paid by the First Federal and Loan Association of Greene County, Waynesburg*$
Pa., -which holds the mortgage and therefore assumes responsibility for the taxes on this property,
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the Board for the Assessment and Revision of
Taxes be authorized to prepare voucher for refund of the sum of $9.63 in favor of Frank J. and
Mary R. Dzik, Donora, Pa., as per tax receipt on file, representing payment of 1946 County Tax

on a bungalow and part lots 474 476, assessed in the Borough of Charleroi at 1,500.00, said tax
being a duplicate of that,paid by the First Federal Savings and -Loan Association -of Greene County,
Waynesburg, Pa., which holds the mortgage and therefore assumes responsibility for the taxes on
this property.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Loxstuter, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that Douglas.W. Cahill, of Washington,
Pa., be employed as Chief Clerk in the Real Estate Departments effective February 10, 1947, and
covering the period from that date to.the first Monday in January, 1948.
Motion carried, Mr. Pettit not voting.
Letter from Washington County Prison Board, requesting that the sewer at the rear of the
Jail be opened and repaired, and that coal be removed from the Jail driveway and driveway kept
open between Beau Street and Cherry Avenue at all times, read.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting was
adjourned.

Motion duly made and seconded that the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes
be authorized to prepare voucher for refund of the sum of $17.32 in favor of R. E. Plunkett,
Houston, Pa., representing payment of 1946 County Tax on a house and hots 11 and 12, Hamilton and I

Plunkett Plan, Houston, Pa., said tax being a duplicate of that paid by Ralph V. Plunkett,
Ambridge, Pa., the owner of the property, as indicated by records in the County Treasurer's Office.

Motion duly made and seconded that the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes
be authorized to prepare mmbw for refund of the sum of 1..49 in favor of Stanley Rostochi., Joffre,
" Pa., representing payment of 1945 County Tax on house and Lot No. 11 Greer Plan, Smith Township,
assessed at $200.00, said assessment being in error inasmuch as this property was sold by Stanley
Rostochi on September 26, 1944, to John A. Nicoletto, whose deed was not recorded until April 23,
1945, and who in turn sold said property on June 8, 1945, to John Hormmeni.ck, the present owner.
The Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes is hereby authorized to lien said tax and give
notice to the rightful owner. Refund is to be General Fund $1.21, Institution District Fund $0.28.
Motion carried.
