O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS NO. 234 Office of the County Commissioners Washington., Pa., March 24, 1947 Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Mr. Cummins, Mr. Pettit and Mr. Lowstuter. Minute No. 233 read and approved. The Successor Trustee of the Heirs of W. R. Turney has requested the Board of Commission- ers to compromise tax claims against 187 acres of coal situate in Independence Township for the amount of $3,000,00, The Board is informed that the total amount of tax, penalties, interest, and costs if ,676.73. The Trustee for the Heirs of W. R. Turney has represented to the Board that the School Board of Independence Township and the Board of Supervisors desire that this compromise be approved and that they will appear at the hearing and testify favorably to the compromise. Therefore, motion is duly made and seconded that the Solicitor be instructed to present petition to the Court for leave to compromise on the aforesaid basis and to inform the Court that the peti— tion is being presented because the local authorities desire it and will appear to support the petition. Motion carried. Controller Harvey Stuart called into.the meeting for the purpose of opening bids re— ceived in accordance with advertisement of the Controller for the repair and restoration of One Hundred Eighty—two (182) Volumes, more or less, of old Record Books now on file in the Office of the Recorder of Deeds. f In accordance therewith, the following bid, being the only one received, was opened and I� I read; I C. EDI HULTMAN CO., 92 Noble Ave., Pittsburgh 5, Pa. I Having examined the attached Specifications for the repair and restoration of records in the Recorder's Office in the Court House of Washington County, Pennsylvania, and understanding the same, I (or We) propose to perform this work in accordance therewith at the price of: 82.75 per volume I A certified check in the sum of $500.00 is herewith enclosed. Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that the bid of C. Edwin Hultman Co. as set forth above be accepted, and that contract be awarded to the said C. Edwin Hultman Co. Motion carried.
