Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Mr. Cummins,
Mr. Pettit and Mr. Lowstuter.
Minute No. 234 read and approved.
Notion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel Tax
Sale of April 2, 1945, for the non-payment of taxes assessed in Independence Township against
4 property of John Anderson Estate, but actually owned at the time of sale by Glenn W. Riggs,
j and described as a tract of land containing 207 acres, more or less., inasmuch as all the
property owned by the said Glenn W. Riggs at the time of the sale was under the jurisdiction
and control of the United States District Court by virtue of a proceeding under Section 75 of
the Bankruptcy Act commonly known as the Frazier -Lemke Act.
Lotion carried.

Motion by Mr. Lowstuter, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that John Beck be employed as
1 General Foreman of the Bridge Department, effective April 1, 1947, and covering the period from
k that date to the first Monday in January, 1948.

Motion carried, with Mr. Pettit not voting.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting
was adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, in connection
with Public Sale of Automobiles held this day by Washington County in the Public Meeting Room
of the Court House at 11;00 a.m., those present being Mr. Cummins, Mr. Pettit and Mr. Lowstuter.
Upon consideration of the result of the aforementioned Public Sale, the following
bids were approved and accepted:

1 - 1938 Ford Station Wagon (Serial No. 18434837) 450.00
1 - 1942 Four Door Dodge Sedan (Serial No. 306303].4) $ 460.00
Also upon consideration, the following bid was rejected:

Motion duly made and seconded that the bid of $460.00 for the 1942 Four Door Dodge Sedan
be rejected, because of failure of the hidder to make the required down payment of 25%, and that tho sale
of said Dodge Sedan and the 1942 Two Door Hudson Sedan be continued to April 9, 1947, at 11.00 a.m.
Motion carried. i
Motion duly made and seconded that the Chief Clerk be authorized to deliver certificate
of title for 1938 Ford Station Wagon to Pete Palcic, of Ellsworth,
of the bid price of S450.00.
Motion carried.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Yx. Cummins,
Mr. Pettit and Mr. Lowstuter,
Minutes Nos, 235 and 236 read and approved.
Motion duly made and seconded that the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes
be authorized to prepare voucher for refund of the sum of $10.95 in favor of Margaret Stone,
R. D. Bentleyville, Pa., as per tax receipts on file, representing payment of 1944-1945 and 1946
County Tax on a 4 room house and Lot No. 10 in the Gibson Plan, Fallowrfield Township, assessed
at 500.00, said tax being a duplicate of that paid by the Hillman Coal & Coke Company, who are
the owners of this property but are selling it to Mrs. Stone under an article of agreement.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the signing of a lease between
Washington County Fire Insurance Company and Washington County Commissioners, covering "Office
rooms on second floor Washington County Fire Insurance Building, known as No. 4, 5, 6 & 7, No. 55
South Alain Street, Washington, Penna. (Occupied by Agricultural Conservation Association)ff, at
a monthly rental of 70.00, payable on the first day of each month in advance, beginning May 1, 1941.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lowstuter, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that Thomas Enright be employed as
Night Building Superintendent in the Court House, effective April 16, 1947, and covering the
period from that date to the,first Monday in January, 1948. Motion carried,
