Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the execution of a Release of
Damages by The Citizens water Company of Washington., Pa., in favor of Washington County, dated
May 12, 1947, for and in consideration of the sum of One (1.00) Dollar, in connection with the
widening and grading of the channel of Chartiers Creek and the realignment and change of grade
of the approach roadways pursuant to the rebuilding of Chartiers Creek Bridge No. 64, known as the
Gabby Bridge, abutting on Township Road No. 505, in North Franklin Township.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that, in answer to petition filed at No. 231 August Term,
1946, after survey and careful consideration, the County Board of Elections be directed to file a
report to the Court, recommending division of Somerset Township so as to create two precincts,
to be known as the "First Precinct" and the "Second Precinct".
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that an appropriation in the -sum of $600.00 be granted to
Washington County Historical Society, in compliance with request dated May 9, 1947.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Lowstuter, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that Calvert Wilson be employed as a
Clerk in the office of the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes, effective May 20.. 1947,
and covering the period from that date to the first Monday in January, 1948.
Motion carried, with dr. Pettit voting nNoff.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting was
adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Mr. Cummins,
Mr. Pettit and Mr. Lowstuter,
Minute No. 249 read and approved.
Motion duly made and seconded that all County offices coming under the jurisdiction of the
Commissioners be closed from 600 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 1947, until 9:00 a.m. Monday, June 2, 1947.1
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting was
adjourned.
