Motion by Mr. Loxstuter, seconded by Mr. Cummins., that Victor Peternel be employed as
Voucher Clerk for the year 1947, effective June 16, 1947, and covering the period from that date to
the first Monday of January, 1948.
Lotion carried, -with Mr. Pettit voting "No".
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting was
adjourned.

Minute No. 252 read and approved.
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel Tax Sale
of April 2, 1945, for the non-payment of 1939 School and Borough Taxes assessed against Rate Norman
on property described as nl vacant lot 21, Randolph Plan", in the Borough of Bentleyville, inasmuch
as this assessment was a duplication with that of Tony. Budest, the _rightful_ owner of the property i
at that time, and which property is now owned by John _and Thelma E. Kandrato icz.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting vas
adjourned.

In accordance therewith, the following bid, being the only one received, was opened and
read:

I/fre hereby propose to deliver the Treated -Lumber listed below to the railroad siding at
Washington, Pa., freight paid, and guarantee that this material shall be furnished in accordance
with the Specifications of the Pennsylvania Department of Highways for similar materials.
I/We enclose a certified check for Two Hundred ($200.00)'Dollars as_a guarantee that we
will execute the contract if it should be awarded to me/us. I/We will do this work at the
jfollowing prices, said prices to be in full -for all labor, material, royalties, etc., and for work

Court House and Jail, were opened and reads

In accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller, inviting proposals for
furnishing and delivering coal for heating the Court House and Jail, Washington, Pennsylvania,
having examined the attached specifications and understanding the same, I (or We) propose to
furnish and deliver said coal in accordance therewith for the sum oft
$ 5.55 per ton
NOTE: The following is an excerpt from letter accompanying bid:

Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that the above bids be tabulated, and
action on awarding contract taken at a later date.

Minute No. 253 read and approved.
Motion duly made and seconded that the following Resolution be adoptedt
BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Commissioners of Washington County, that
the plans submitted by the Pennsylvania Department of Highways --for the changing
of State Highway Route 108 and Application 4274 from Station 32V50 to Station
358/95.74, A plications 4274, 4274 Spur E_and 5404.from Station 9YI13.55 to
Station 207 2.20, and Legislative Route 62026 from Station 0/00 to Station
4/50, have been examined and the County Commissioners agree that Washington
County will not assume any property damages resulting from the construction
of the above highways as contemplated by these plans, or any damages arising
out of any changes or alterations of drainage resulting from the.construction
or maintenance of the above highways, or any damage resulting to any property
or holdings of any Public Utility Company; nor will -the County assume any
damages resulting to any coal or other minerals -in -and underlying the property
affected by this improvement; but that Washington County will contribute the
sum of Twenty --five Thousand (25,000.00) Dollars toward the payment of
property damages.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting was
adjourned.
