appropriated for use of said organization in the 1947 County Budget.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the signing of an Agreement be-
tween Washington County and Allegheny County Workhouse _and_Inebriate Asylum, dated July 1, 1947v
for a six months period, whereby the rate of maintenance for each prisoner at that Institution is
fixed at $1.20 per day, with the additional charge of the sum. of 830 for transportation of each
discharged prisoner to the County Seat.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorized to advertise for
furnishing and delivering approximately 30,000 board feet of Rough Sawed White Oak Lumber, for the
j repair and maintenance of various bridges in Washington County, in accordance with specifications.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting was
adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Mr. Cummins,
Mr. Pettit and Mr. Lowstuter.
Minute No. 263 read and approved.
Deputy Controller Dentel called into the meeting for the purpose of opening bids received
in accordance With advertisement of the County Controller for the removal of existing bituminous
surfacing material and furnishing and placing of a new Bituminous Wearing Surface on the Timber
Deck of the jointly owned County Bridge over Ten Mile Creek, near the Village of Besco, and for the
cleaning and painting of the Steel Superstructure of the said bridge.
In accordance therewith, the following bid for the removal of existing bituminous
surfacing material and furnishing and placing of a new Bituminous Wearing Surface on the Timber
Deck, being the only one received, was opened and reads

for bids on completion of the necessary repairs to the windows in the County Jail, on a time and
material basis, in accordance with specificationso
Motion carried.

A joint meeting of the Greene County Commissioners and Washington County Commissioners
was held in the office of the County Commissioners, Court House, Washington, Pa.., on Monday,
j July 28, 1947: those present being Commissioners Cummings, Carter and White from Greene County,
and Commissioners Cummins, Pettit and Lowstuter of Washington County.
Washington County Deputy Controller Dentel called into the meeting for the purpose
of awarding contracts for the removal of existing bituminous surfacing material and furnishing
and placing of a new Bituminous Wearing Surface on the Timber Deck of the jointly owned County
Bridge over Ten Mile Creek, near the Village of Bosco, and for the cleaning and painting of
the Steed. Superstructure of the said bridge, in accordance with bids opened at 11=00 a.m. this
same date, Greene County Commissioners having received bids identical with those received by

Motion by Mr. Cummings, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Charles C. Bissett, of New
Freeport, Pa., be awarded contract for the resurfacing of the Bosco Bridge for the sum of
1055.00, in accordance with his bid, it being the only one received.
Motion carried.
