I Motion duly made and seconded that, in accordance with request of Henry Neill, I Secretary -Treasurer, Western Pennsylvania Firemen's Training Institute, the sum of l,000.00 be i made payable to said organization, being the amount appropriated for use of said organisation j in the 1947 County Budget, and check mailed to Henry Neill, Secretary -Treasurer, Box 83, Vestaburg, Pa. Motion carried, Deputy Controller Dentel called into the meeting for the purpose of opening bids received in accordance with advertisement of the County Controller for furnishing and delivering coal for heating the Court House and Jail for the 1947-1948 season. Letter acc..u,«..,y ing above bids "In response to your inquiry for bids for coal to be delivered to the County Court House and Jail, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the 1947-41 heating season and in accordance with the specifications, we are submitting analysis for Stove coal -and also enclose a certified check in the amount of $500,00 to guarantee execution of contract. i This quotation as well as subsequent deliveries are subject to the present mine wage � scale, priorities, strikes, disasters, goverment reglations or other unavoidable circumstances. 238 MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA ROSS R. Minute No. 272 read and approved. Deputy Controller Dentel called into the meeting for the purpose of awarding contract for j furnishing and delivering coal for heating the Court House and Jail .fcr the 1947-1948 Season, # in accordance with bids received and opened August 29, 1947. k Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that the bid of Norton Wright and Mike Suzy, for the sum of $6,40 per ton, be approved and accepted, it being the lowest bid received. Motion carried, with the Controller instructed to return the certified check of the unsuccessful bidder. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorised to cancel tax sale of March 241, 1942, covering property assessed in the name of Laura Woodburn in Peters Township and described as "15 acres Surface adjoining Charles Rupp, Paff and Braun", inasmuch as said 11 J property was previously sold at Tax Sale on April 26, 1940.
