Minute No. 272 read and approved. Deputy Controller Dentel called into the meeting for the purpose of awarding contract for j furnishing and delivering coal for heating the Court House and Jail .fcr the 1947-1948 Season, # in accordance with bids received and opened August 29, 1947. k Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter, that the bid of Norton Wright and Mike Suzy, for the sum of $6,40 per ton, be approved and accepted, it being the lowest bid received. Motion carried, with the Controller instructed to return the certified check of the unsuccessful bidder. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorised to cancel tax sale of March 241, 1942, covering property assessed in the name of Laura Woodburn in Peters Township and described as "15 acres Surface adjoining Charles Rupp, Paff and Braun", inasmuch as said 11 J property was previously sold at Tax Sale on April 26, 1940.
